Sending Cost Estimation Form to NextGen® Enterprise Patient Portal

Before you begin The patient should be enrolled in the NextGen® Enterprise Patient Portal to send the Cost Estimation form from the Estimate Patient Cost window. Generate a cost estimation or select an existing estimate. Select Send to Patient Portal. The Send Forms to Patient Portal window opens. Select the forms from the Cost Estimation form group. Note: You can only send the forms that are in the Cost Estimation form group to the NextGen® Enterprise Patient Portal. Select Send. To send the previously generated estimate to the NextGen® Enterprise Patient Portal from the patient chart, do the following: Open the Estimation Results from the Clinical History/Notes tab in the patient's chart. You can also search for a specific cost estimation using the cost estimate ID. Right-click on the desired estimate. Select Send to Patient Portal. The Send Forms to Patient Portal window opens. The Portal Forms Tab in the Modify Person Information Window

In the Modify Person Information window, the Portal Forms tab has been added to store cost estimation forms. When you send a cost estimation form to the NextGen® Enterprise Patient Portal for a person who is not a patient yet, the system captures the form and stores it in the Portal Forms tab. Data stored in Portal Forms is automatically transferred to the Patient Portal Forms folder when the person becomes a patient. You can view a copy of the cost estimation form that is sent to the NextGen® Enterprise Patient Portal by selecting Portal Forms in the Modify Person Information window. Pre-Services Cost Estimation

NextGen® Enterprise PM offers a pre-service solution that offers clear estimation for planned or completed services. You can perform patient cost estimation if you have administrator privileges to perform administration tasks for the practice. The cost estimation feature enables you to: Obtain a breakdown of financial responsibilities between the patient and insurance provider. Inform the patient about the amount payable by the patient before or after using the services and the amount that will be settled by the insurance provider. Collect timely payments from the person or patient. Print cost estimation results in customized formats. Keep plain text notes for the estimation. Associate diagnosis code for the estimation. Providers System Tab

On the System tab, you can add a provider or modify provider details using the following field descriptions. Field Description Provider Payers This field lists payers and payer numbers added to the provider. After you add a provider, you should add values in the Provider Payers list. For more information on payers and payer numbers, refer to Payer Name and Number. Taxonomy Code This field displays a default taxonomy code to classify providers according to type or specialty. Set Up Patient Information Bar Practice Preferences for NextGen® Enterprise PM

From the Preference List, select Patient Information Bar, and then select PM tab. Select the Show Patient Information Bar check box. To display the Patient Information Bar on the Charge Posting, select the In Charge Entry check box. To display the Patient Information Bar on the Payment Entry, select the In Payment Entry check box. Define which information to display on the bar in the Patient Information section. Define which information to display on the bar in the Chart Link section. Estimating Patient Cost

In NextGen® Enterprise PM, the Estimate Patient Cost window enables you to specify the inputs required for calculating the patient and insurance responsibility amounts for services planned or rendered. You can initiate cost estimation from: The People Lookup window for a person. The Patient Lookup window for a patient. The Appointment Lookup window or the appointment book for an appointment or event. The Encounter Lookup window or the Encounters tab on the Patient Chart window for an encounter. The Estimation Results in the Clinical History/Notes tab on the Patient Chart window.
