Sending Cost Estimation Form to NextGen® Enterprise Patient Portal

Before you begin The patient should be enrolled in the NextGen® Enterprise Patient Portal to send the Cost Estimation form from the Estimate Patient Cost window. Generate a cost estimation or select an existing estimate. Select Send to Patient Portal. The Send Forms to Patient Portal window opens. Select the forms from the Cost Estimation form group. Note: You can only send the forms that are in the Cost Estimation form group to the NextGen® Enterprise Patient Portal. Select Send. To send the previously generated estimate to the NextGen® Enterprise Patient Portal from the patient chart, do the following: Open the Estimation Results from the Clinical History/Notes tab in the patient's chart. You can also search for a specific cost estimation using the cost estimate ID. Right-click on the desired estimate. Select Send to Patient Portal. The Send Forms to Patient Portal window opens. Cost Estimation for a Person

A person in NextGen® Enterprise PM is denoted by and can be any of the following: New patient who has not yet been checked in for the first appointment Guarantor for a patient in the practice Insurance policy holder for a patient in the practice Emergency contact for a patient in the practice Patient in another practice within the same enterprise You can find a person using the People Lookup window and initiate cost estimation for the person. You can open the People Lookup window through one of the following methods. Selecting Lookup or Est Patient Cost on the toolbar. Selecting Tasks > Estimate Patient Cost from the menu. Selecting Tasks > Lookup > People from the menu. You can use the search criteria to find the person. You can open the Estimate Patient Cost window by right-clicking the record of the specific person and selecting Estimate Patient Cost. Send to Patient Portal field in the Estimate Patient Cost Window and Patient Chart

The Send To Patient Portal field has been added in the Estimate Patient Cost and Patient Chart windows to send the cost estimation form to NextGen® Enterprise Patient Portal. You can send the cost estimation form in the patient chart by selecting the Estimation Results and then selecting the Send To Patient Portal option in the Clinical History/ Notes tab. Note: The Send To Patient Portal field is available only for patients enrolled in NextGen® Enterprise Patient Portal. The Patient Amount column has been added in the Service Items section on the Estimate Patient Cost window. The Patient Amount column reflects the correct total patient responsibility amount by adding the Copay, Coinsurance, Deductible, and Non-Covered service items. To modify the Patient Amount column, you must modify one of the applicable columns used to calculate the patient amount for the service line. Estimating Patient Cost

In NextGen® Enterprise PM, the Estimate Patient Cost window enables you to specify the inputs required for calculating the patient and insurance responsibility amounts for services planned or rendered. You can initiate cost estimation from: The People Lookup window for a person. The Patient Lookup window for a patient. The Appointment Lookup window or the appointment book for an appointment or event. The Encounter Lookup window or the Encounters tab on the Patient Chart window for an encounter. The Estimation Results in the Clinical History/Notes tab on the Patient Chart window. When you initiate the cost estimation, the Estimate Patient Cost window opens: Estimate Patient Cost window Every time you specify and submit data on the Estimate Patient Cost window, a new cost estimation record will be created with a unique cost estimation ID. Add a Person on the Add Person Information Window

You can add a person on the Add Person Information window in NextGen® Enterprise PM or NextGen® Enterprise EHR. On the Add Patient Information window, a person becomes a patient after you add a Chart. To open the Person Information window from NextGen® Enterprise PM, select Lookup. The People Lookup window opens. To open the Person Information window from NextGen® Enterprise EHR, select File, then New, and then Person. The People Lookup window opens. To add a person, select New. The Add Person Information window opens. To search for an existing person in NextGen® Enterprise PM, enter the search criteria. Then in the Matching Records list, double-click the desired patient. The Update Person Information window opens.
