Setting Up Enterprise Preferences for ERA

This section provides information on settings in Enterprise Preferences that are related to ERA. Enterprise Preferences > General Archive ERA files: Select this check-box to archive ERA 835 files that have been imported and processed in NextGen® Enterprise PM for all practices in the enterprise. Lookup an Archived ERA File

Access NextGen® Enterprise PM. From the Tasks menu, select Lookup, and then Files. The File Archive Search window appears. In the File Type field, select 835 ERA File. Enter additional search criteria in the Beginning, Thru and File Name fields, if needed. Select Find. 835 ERA files matching the search criteria entered are listed in the Result section of the window. Select the desired archived file. Right-click and select one of the following: To export the archived ERA file, select Export File. To print an EOB for the archived ERA file, select Print EOB. The ERA posting process requires the following set up in File Maintenance: Remittance Profile Library Reason Code Library Payers: Enter an ERA Payer Number Select a Remittance Profile Library for specific ERA payers, if applicable Select a Reason Codes Library for specific payers, if applicable Practice Preferences: Select a default Remittance Profile Library for all ERA payers Select a default Reason Codes Library for all payers Configure Patient Pay Import options, if applicable Set Up a Remittance Profile Library Setting Up Reason Codes for ERA You can use the Reason Codes Library to configure business rules to automate ERA transaction posting. Setting Up Payers for ERA You can define the various parameters in Payers Master File related to ERA. Setting Up Enterprise Preferences for ERA Setting Up Practice Preferences for ERA You can set preferences for all payers in the practice.

Set Up Enterprise Preferences

You can set preferences for all practices in your enterprise from NextGen® Enterprise PM or File Maintenance. To open the Enterprise Preferences window, do one of the following: From NextGen® Enterprise PM, select Admin > > Preferences > Enterprise. From File Maintenance, select Master Files > System > Enterprises, and from the list, choose an enterprise and then select Preferences. Set your preferences on the various tabs in the Enterprise Preferences window.
