Export Statements to an ASCII File

Open NextGen® Enterprise PM. Select File > Print Forms > Statements. The Statement Options window opens. You can also export statements to an ASCII file on the following: You can export an individual account statement on the Guarantor Statement window. You can export an individual patient statement on the Patient Statement window. You can export batch budget statements on the Budget Statement Generation window. To create an export file, select Export. The Save As window opens. Browse to the appropriate directory folder to save the export file. Enter a name for the export file in the File name field. Select text files (*.txt) in the Save as type field. To save changes and close the window, select Save. Note: You must send the export file to the third-party vendor for processing. Sending Statements to Other NextGen Applications

You must configure a shared network path in System Administration to share statements with other NextGen® applications. If the shared network path is configured and accessible, the PDF statements are automatically stored in the shared network path. If the shared network path is inaccessible or invalid, the PDF statements are stored in the NextGen® folder then you must manually move the statements to the shared network path. For more information on configuring the shared network path, go to NextGen Healthcare Success Community and download System Administrator Guide for NextGen® Enterprise, and then refer to the Documents Universal Preferences section. You can export statements to create ASCII files that are sent to a third-party vendor for processing (printing and mailing). Both individual demand statements and batch statements can be exported. You must work closely with your statement processing vendor to ensure export files are created in NextGen® Enterprise PM and formatted using the appropriate data Delimiter and Text Qualifier required by the vendor. These must be defined in Practice Preferences > Forms > Export Options. Note: If you are using NextGen® EDI statement services, ensure to set the export options in Practice Preferences > Forms: Delimiter = <comma> and Text Qualifier = “. Generating Statements

After you create charges and bill encounters, you can generate billing statements in NextGen® Enterprise PM as needed (on demand) or in a batch. NextGen® Enterprise PM generates billing statements as PDF statements and temporarily stores them in the shared network path configured in the System Administrator. For patients enrolled in NextGen® PxP Portal, the system transfers the statements to their NextGen® PxP Portal accounts. When patients log on to NextGen® PxP Portal, they can view the statements and make payments. Important: You must configure the shared network path in Universal Preferences of System Administrator to have the generated statements appear on the Statements tab of NextGen® PxP Portal. Upload a Statement Export File to NextGen EDI

For detailed information on generating statements, go to the NextGen Healthcare Success Community and download the Billing and Collections Guide for NextGen® Enterprise PM . Do one of the following: To export an individual account statement, access the Account Profile and then select the Stmts button on the main toolbar. The Guarantor Statement window opens.
