Provider Types

Provider Types are used to classify rendering providers in NextGen® Enterprise PM. A Provider Type must be linked to every rendering provider in on the Practice tab of the Providers master file. It is used by Health Centers for UDS and/or state specific reporting. Note: The Provider Types master list table comes pre-installed. Items should be reviewed and modified as needed. UDS Related Master Lists

When enabled, a UDS tab displays on the Add/Modify Patient Information window in NextGen® Enterprise PM. The tab includes fields for capturing additional patient demographic information used by Health Centers for UDS Report purposes. The UDS tab and related fields are enabled at the enterprise level. Therefore, they are available to all practices in the enterprise. The pick-list items available for user selection in each UDS field are created in the corresponding Master Lists tables in File Maintenance. Transaction Codes

The codes you set up in the Transaction Codes master file are used in the Transaction Detail window in NextGen® Enterprise PM to qualify payments, adjustments, and refunds. They are also used to apply discounts. The transaction code descriptions print on Patient Statements. You should define enough transaction codes to cover all financial classes, then define special transaction codes for any other activity that should be tracked and reported. Financial Class Grid

Use the Financial Class grid to assign financial classes in your system to financial categories. Some of the programming in NextGen® Therapy Suite is done strictly off Financial Category. Include only financial classes that have specific billing rules that differ from standard AMA billing. For example, if BCBS has an overall limit of 4 billable units per visit and BCBS is currently in your Commercial Financial Class, you must create a separate financial class for BCBS so the application can apply the four-unit billing limitation to only BCBS and not the entire Commercial Financial Class. Classification/Beneficiary

Classification/Beneficiary is a part of patient demographics entry and it is used by IHS practices for reporting purposes. Classification/Beneficiary indicates an individual's IHS classification for benefits. The Classification/ Beneficiary field displays on the UDS tab of the Add/Modify Patient Information window in NextGen® Enterprise PM. Note: The Classification/Beneficiary master list table can be installed by using the IHS Report Export Utility provided by NextGen Technical Consulting Services.
