Sign Documents Electronically

You can electronically sign multiple forms or at multiple locations within the same form, for an account or a patient. Before you begin You must have an electronic signature pad properly installed and configured to obtain electronic signatures. You must add a System Esignature data field in the Forms Enhanced master file in File Maintenance to turn on this feature in NextGen® Enterprise PM. You can electronically sign documents shared between different practices; however, you cannot electronically sign documents when generating a blank form from the File > Print menu or when selecting forms for multiple patients. For setting up electronic signatures, go to the NextGen Healthcare Success Community and download the File Maintenance Master Files Guide for NextGen Enterprise. Open NextGen® Enterprise PM. Select File > Print Forms > Forms or select the desired patient from Encounter Lookup window, and then right-click, and select Print > Forms. The Print Forms window appears. Select File >

Electronic Signature Hot Keys

Selecting an esignature tag in the NextGen PM Electronic Signature window enables you to use the following hot keys. Electronic Signature in Forms Enhanced

The Electronic Signature feature in Forms Enhanced enables you to electronically sign multiple forms or at multiple locations within the same form, for an account or a patient. NextGen PM Electronic Signature Window - Field Descriptions

The following table describes the fields of the NextGen PM Electronic Signature window. Field Description Esignature Tags panel Includes Esignature Tags and System Esignature data fields under each tag. For example, if the Patient Esignature Tag appears twice in a form, then the Esignature Tags panel displays the tag name, which is Patient, and the number of times the tag appears as Esignature 1 and Esignature 2 under Patient. If you do not assign an Esignature Tag to an Esignature data field in File Maintenance, then then system automatically assigns a tag as Default and displays as Default 1, Default 2 and so on. Capture Window section Begin Capture Begins capturing electronic signatures and activates other fields in the Capture Window section. Clear/Restart Clears the electronic signature.
