To create a person account, the person must have an existing demographic record, or a new demographic must be created.
The application automatically creates a person account when the person is selected as the guarantor on a patient encounter for the first time, which generates account statements and invoice bills, including encounters with outstanding self-pay balances. An account guarantor is a person or business responsible for the charges remaining in a patient's account after all the parties have paid their share. An account guarantor is a patient, family member, person whose insurance is being billed, or an employer.
