Open
NextGen® Enterprise PM
.
On the
NextGen® Enterprise PM
toolbar, select
Chart
.
The
Patient Lookup
window opens.
Enter the search criteria data to locate the patient, and then select
Find
.
All existing patients that match the search criteria display in the
Matching Records
section of the
Patient Lookup
window.
Right-click the patient, and then select
Open
.
The
Add Patient Information
window opens.
Verify the
Demographics
,
Billing Address
and
Phone
information.
Select
Account
.
A message appears asking you for confirmation to create the account.
Select
OK
.
A person account is created and the
Account Profile
window opens.

Create a Person Account from an Existing Record
To create a person account, the person must have an existing demographic record, or a new demographic must be created. The application automatically creates a person account when the person is selected as the guarantor on a patient encounter for the first time, which generates account statements and invoice bills, including encounters with outstanding self-pay balances. An account guarantor is a person or business responsible for the charges remaining in a patient's account after all the parties have paid their share. An account guarantor is a patient, family member, person whose insurance is being billed, or an employer. Open NextGen® Enterprise PM. From the main toolbar, select Lookup or Chart. In the lookup window, enter your search criteria, and then select Find. To open the patient or person information, right-click the name in the Matching Records list, and then select Open. Verify and, if needed, update the patient demographics, billing address, and contact information. Select A

Creating a Person Account
When you select a person as the guarantor on a patient’s encounter for the first time, the person's account is automatically created. You can manually create a person account before selecting that person as the guarantor on a patient’s encounter, if needed. You can create a person account from the following areas in NextGen® Enterprise PM. People Lookup Patient Lookup Note: To create a person account, the person must have an existing demographic record. Open NextGen® Enterprise PM. On the NextGen® Enterprise PM toolbar, selectChart. The Patient Lookup window opens. Enter the search criteria data to locate the patient, and then selectFind. Create Person Accounts from People Lookup
Open NextGen® Enterprise PM. Select Lookup. The People Lookup window opens. In the Search Criteria section, enter the person's information and then selectFind. Person records that match the search criteria appear in the Matching Records section. Select the person, and then selectOpen. The Modify Person Information window opens. Note: When you select the patient, the Update Patient Information window opens. Verify that the demographics, billing address, and contact information are complete. SelectAccount. Create Patient Charts
The patient or person lookup search results includes both patients and persons. To set up a person as a patient, you must create a chart for the person using the Create Encounter window. Open NextGen® Enterprise PM, and then select Chart or Chart Lookup The Patient Lookup window opens. Select New. The Add Patient Information window opens. Modify Patient Information- Encounte Enter the details in the required fields that appear in red color and any additional information you want to include for the person. Creating a Person Account
