Add Appointments

You can schedule an appointment for a resource at a particular time and date. Open NextGen® Enterprise PM. From the main toolbar, select ApptBook. The Appointment Book window opens. Note: To improve the response time, you can open the Appointment Scheduling preferences and select the Only show my preferred resources option under the Resources tab. In the Daily, Weekly Schedule, or Multi-View tabs, select a resource, date, and time slot to schedule an appointment. To add an appointment, do one of the following: From the Appointment Book toolbar, select Add Appt . Right-click the time slot and select New. Double-click the time slot. Enter the details in the mandatory fields. To select and link a person or patient to the appointment, select the open menu icon in the upper-right side of the Add Appointment window and select the patient. Select a Referring Physician for the appointment. Select the open menu icon and select Open Existing Encounters or double-click an encounter to attach it t

Confirming Appointments

After the patient confirms the appointment, you can mark the appointment as confirmed on the Edit Appointment window. A telephone icon appears next to confirmed appointments in the Daily view tab of the Appointment Book window. Note: Automated voice reminder interfaces are available with NextGen® EDI, PhoneTree, TeleVox, SmartTalk, and CIMA. One-way interfaces send appointment information from NextGen® Enterprise PM to the vendor. Bi-directional interfaces send appointment information to the vendor and confirmation information back to NextGen® Enterprise PM. Confirm an Appointment

You can confirm an appointment from the Edit Appointment window after the patient confirms. Open the Appointment Book window. Open the appointment to be confirmed. The Edit Appointment window opens. Select the Confirmed option. Select OK to save changes and close the window. A telephone icon appears next to confirmed appointments in the Daily view tab of the Appointment Book window. Confirm Multiple Appointments

When you confirm an appointment for a patient, if the patient has multiple appointments either on the same day or in the future with other appointments, a message appears asking you to confirm all the appointments at the same time. For example, a patient with three same day appointments with the nurse, doctor, and lab, can have all three confirmed at the same time. Open the Appointment Book window. Open an appointment to be confirmed. The Edit Appointment window opens. Select the Confirmed option. Select OK to save changes and close the window. If the patient has other on the same day or future appointments, the Confirm Appointment window opens. Note: Following are the options available on the Confirm Appointment window: The Linked Appointments section displays a list of appointments that are linked to the appointment that you confirmed.
