Working Tasks Assigned to You

After a task has been created, the person assigned to the task can begin to work on it. In general, the workflow for working on a task has three phases: Starting a task Following up on a task Completing a task As a user goes through these phases, he/she must use the Edit Task window to update various fields and change the status of the task, so that it can be accurately tracked and reported on. The following is a description of each phase: Starting a task – the user assigned to the task looks up task details and instructions to begin the work and provides a start date and change in status. A follow up date may be entered at this time as a reminder to review the task on the date specified. Following up on a task – as work continues on the task, the user enters progress notes each time he/she follows up on the task. Transaction Approval Tasks

Your practice can use the Transaction Approval feature to control when payments, adjustments and refunds get posted. When Transaction Approval is being used, users cannot post transactions that exceed a specified dollar amount without first obtaining an approval from a manager or supervisor. Approval of transactions is managed through Worklog tasks. Managers, or any person designated as an approver, can log in to NextGen® Enterprise PM and check the list of tasks awaiting their approval in the Worklog. Users awaiting approval can check the status of their assigned tasks in the Worklog to see if an approval has been granted. You can configure the system to send an email to a user when a transaction task awaiting approval has been granted (or denied) approval. During Payment Entry, transactions that meet the criteria that requires an approval (as indicated in the Task Types master file) auto-create a task. Task Approval Report

Enterprise Worklog and Tasks

From the Enterprise Worklog Manager window, you can manage tasks for all practices to which you have access. The window allows you to: View tasks Modify tasks Complete tasks Delete Tasks To manage and work with tasks, select the Worklog button on the main toolbar. Enable Enterprise Worklog Manager The Enterprise Worklog Manager enables you to work on tasks from different practices without having to login to each practice. Managing Tasks with Enterprise Worklog Manager Just like the standard Worklog Manager, the Enterprise Worklog Manager window displays a list of tasks based on the search criteria entered. Workable Task

NextGen® Enterprise PM users can access workable tasks in Worklog or during AutoFlow in the Work Tasks window where they can view the appointment request details. They can copy the appointment request data and paste it as a new appointment into the appointment book or they can book the appointment through appointment search ahead. Note: Tasks that are set up as workable tasks with a source type of Encounter, Chart, or Appointment are displayed during auto-flow and from the right-click > Work Tasks menu option.
