Verifying Insurance for an Encounter

Insurance must be verified when:

  • The Insurance Selection window is a step in the Autoflow checkout process.
  • The Insurance must be confirmed before proceeding to the next check-out Autoflow sequence option is enabled in Practice Preferences > AutoFlow.
  • The user is in the checkout process with Autoflow.

The application requires that you verify the insurance by selecting either Yes or No in the Insurance Confirmed field on the Encounter Insurance Selection window during the AutoFlow sequence.

A Yes answer permits you to continue with the Autoflow process. A No answer prevents you from advancing to the next step in the checkout process.

In addition, the application displays a message that states that the insurance must be verified. If the insurance is not verified and you select the AutoFlow arrow to navigate to a different window in the Autoflow sequence, or if you cancel out of the Encounter Insurance Selection window, the application generates a significant event (if the significant event is enabled).
