Statement Library

The Statement library is used to group individual statement messages together based on the age of the outstanding insurance balance or based on the statement counter (the number of statements sent) for the outstanding insurance balance. Libraries can be created for a specific financial class, or a specific payer. When you create libraries, they are linked to financial classes in the Statement Parameter Mappings master file. Add or Modify a Statement Library You can add or modify a statement library on the Statement Library window. Statement Parameter Mappings Master File

The Statement Parameter Mappings master file is used to link Statement libraries to a financial class based on whether payers in the financial class are primary, secondary or tertiary on encounters. Statement Messages Master File

The Statement Messages master file is used to create the various individual dunning messages that print on detail statements for an outstanding insurance balance on a charge line item. When you create individual dunning messages, they are grouped together in Statement Library based on the age of the outstanding insurance balance or based on the statement counter (the number of statements sent) for the outstanding insurance balance. Libraries are then linked to a financial class in the Statement Parameter Mappings master file. Add or Modify Statement Messages You can add a statement message in the Statement Message List window and you can modify the existing statement messages in the Modify Statement Message window. Setting Up Statement Messages

Statement Messages involve the following set up in File Maintenance. Create individual messages in the Statement Messages master file. Create Statement libraries to group individual messages together based on either aging or statement counter. Link primary, secondary and tertiary libraries to a specific financial class in the Statement Parameter Mappings master file. Link primary, secondary and tertiary libraries to a specific payer in the Payers master file. Add or Modify Statement Messages

Open File Maintenance. Select System Master Files > PM > Statement Messages. The Statement Messages List window opens. Do one of the following: To add a new statement message, select the Open Menu button and select New. To modify an existing statement message, select the item in the list. Select the Open Menu button, and then select Open. The Modify Statement Message window opens. In the Message Code field, enter a code for the message being defined. The code prints on detail statements next to the charge line item and in front of the Brief Statement Message and/or Long Statement Message. This field is required. In the Description (Message Name) field, enter a description for the message being defined. The description is not printed on statements. This field is required. In the Brief Statement Message (Line-Item Message) field, enter a short message to print on detail statements next to the charge line item. Statement Messages

Statement messages are a way to provide additional information on detail statements to the guarantor related to charge line items on the statement that have an outstanding insurance balance. The messages that print can be based on the age of the outstanding insurance balance or based on the number of statements sent for the outstanding insurance balance. Note: Statement messages work with detail statements only. The Display detail information on statement check box must be selected in Practice Preferences > Statements. Setting Up Statement Messages You can set up statement messages in the File Maintenance. Dunning Messages Dunning messages provides additional information on statements to the guarantor related to their outstanding patient balance.
