Access Authorization from Insurance Maintenance Window

Select an insurance from one of the following: Modify Patient Information window. On the Insurance sub-tab under the Encounters tab in Patient Chart . Encounter Insurance Selection window. Do one of the following: Select Open Menu and then select Open Insurance Information. Right-click and then select Open Insurance Information. The Insurance Maintenance window opens. Viewing Insurance Information in Encounters

You can view a patient's insurance information in the Insurance tab You can view insurance information for an encounter in the Insurance tab under Encounters. The Encounters section displays the list of patient encounters. The Insurance Information section displays information for the selected insurance based on the setup for the payer in the payers master file in File Maintenance. For more information on setting up payers, go to NextGen Healthcare Success Community and download the latest File Maintenance Master Files Guide for NextGen® Enterprise PM. You can do the following on the Insurance tab under Encounters: Open the Encounter Insurance Selection window for the selected encounter. Open the Insurance Maintenance window for the encounter. Remove the selected insurance from the encounter. Open the Balance Control window for the selected encounter. Open the Authorization Listing window for the selected insurance. Open the Referral Listing window for the selected insurance. Open the

Add Insurance to a Person or Patient

The Insurance Maintenance window is used to add insurance to a person or patient. You system adminstrator manages the insurer list in File Maintenance in the Payers master file. In the Insurance Listing section of the Demographics tab, select the open menu and then select New Insurance. The Payer Lookup window appears. Enter the search criteria for the payer. Select Find, and double-click the applicable payer in the Payer List. The Insurance Maintenance window appears. Select the Detail tab and enter the HIC/Policy Nbr.
