Set Up Sliding Fee Schedules Master Files

A sliding fee schedule master file is a system level table. You can create a master sliding fee schedule with general parameters such as name, adjustment transaction code, effective and expiration dates.

If you are a system administrator, you can create a sliding fee schedule master file or modify a sliding fee schedule master file.

  1. In File Maintenance, open System Master Files > PM > Sliding Fee Schedules.
    The Sliding Fee Schedules List window opens.
  2. Do one of the following:
    • To add a sliding fee schedule master, select the open menu , and select New.
    • To modify a sliding fee schedule master file, select the desired list item, select open menu , and select Open.

  3. Type a descriptive name for the sliding fee schedule master file.
  4. Select the adjustment transaction code to be used with the sliding fee schedule master file.
  5. Select the effective and expiration dates for the sliding fee schedule. These fields are required.
  6. In Re-Verify Days, specify the number of days for re-verifying the family size and income.
  7. In Note, enter any additional comments for the sliding fee schedule.
    This field is not used anywhere else in the application and is for informational purpose only.
  8. To display an alert for missing or expired family size and annual income, select the Display family size and income re-verify alert check box. This alert appears when the specified number of re-verify days have passed.
  9. To display an alert for patient on a sliding fee schedule, select Display alert identifying a sliding fee patient.
  10. To add a sliding fee schedule, select open menu in the Sliding Fee Schedules section, and select New.
    The Sliding Fee Schedule Detail Maintenance window opens.
  11. To modify a sliding fee schedule, select the item in the list, select the open menu, and select Open.

  12. To change the priority order for schedules within the master file, select the row for a schedule and then select the arrows to move the line item up or down in the list.
  13. Do one of the following:
    • To save the changes and add another sliding fee schedule master file, select Next.
    • To save the changes and close the window, select OK.
