Set Up SIMs for an Event

The SIMs tab on the Add Event or Edit Event window is used when an appointment for a specific event should always default one or more charges on the Charge Posting window for the encounter created from the appointment.

For example, when a Post Op event is scheduled with a provider, SIM code 99024 should default when posting charges to the encounter created from the appointment.

A message appears during the charge posting process stating that the charge is pre-loaded because of the linked encounter's appointment events. You can accept, reject, or cancel the pre-loaded charge.

Select the Default to encounter and Effective Date options in the Appt Event SIM Carryover section of Practice Preferences > Chart.
