Set Up Overrides for an Event

The Overrides tab on the Add Event or Edit Event window is used to define a duration for a specific resource that is different from the default duration defined for the event. For example, most providers in the practice need 30 minutes to see a new patient, so the default duration for that event is set to 30. However, one provider needs 40 minutes to see a new patient. An event duration override can be set to 40 for that provider.

An event duration defined for a specific resource overrides the default duration when an appointment for the event is scheduled for that resource. This ensures that the proper amount of time is blocked on the resource's schedule.
