Setup Default General Preferences - Chart Tab

The Chart user preferences enable you to make settings that have an impact on specific areas of the Patient Chart in NextGen® Enterprise PM. From the Default User Prefs - General List window, open a master file. The Default User Preferences - General window opens. Select the Chart tab. In theDefault Word Processorfield, select one of the following to use as the default processor when creating notes in patient charts: Wordpad Word ® In theEncounter List Default Displaysection, select from the following options for the default display of encounters in patient charts: Encounter Date: view encounters listed by date. Encounter Number (default): Select this check box to view encounters listed by number. Both: view encounters listed by date and number. Note: You must select at least one check box. Configuring General User Preferences

You can configure General User Preferences to control how specific functions and tasks work for you in NextGen® Enterprise PM. Some settings are strictly for display purposes, while others affect the application behavior. In File Maintenance, general preferences can be defined in the Default User Prefs - General master file, and then assigned to groups of users or individual users in System Administrator. In NextGen® Enterprise PM, you can modify your own general preferences in Admin > Preferences > User > General. Your settings override any default settings that were assigned to you in System Administrator. Configuring User Preferences for the Patient Information Bar

You can set up user preferences to display the Patient Information Bar in the following areas in NextGen® Enterprise PM: Patient chart Charge entry Payment entry You can also select the following background color options for the Patient Information Bar. Add or Modify Chart Details

Open the Patient Information window for the desired patient. Select the Chart Details tab. In the Default Rendering Physician field, select a provider to default as the Rendering on new encounters created for the patient. The encounters are those created from the Patient Chart in NextGen® Enterprise PM and in the Appointment Book from appointments without a rendering provider. In the Default Referring Physician field, select a provider to default as the Referring on new encounters created for the patient. The encounters are those created from the Patient Chart in NextGen® Enterprise PM and in the Appointment Book from appointments without a referring provider. The Print Statements check box is selected by default. Do one of the following: To include encounters in the patient's chart on statements, select the check box. Set Up Patient Information Bar Practice Preferences for NextGen® Enterprise PM

From the Preference List, select Patient Information Bar, and then select PM tab. Select the Show Patient Information Bar check box. To display the Patient Information Bar on the Charge Posting, select the In Charge Entry check box. To display the Patient Information Bar on the Payment Entry, select the In Payment Entry check box. Define which information to display on the bar in the Patient Information section. Define which information to display on the bar in the Chart Link section. For each Field that you want to be accessible from the Patient Information Bar, do the following: In the Table field, select the Open File and then select a table.
