Search for an ASA/Surgery Code Crosswalk

Use the following procedure to search for an existing ASA/surgery code crosswalk from the Crosswalk Library Search window: In the Search Method section at the top of the window, select one of the following buttons: Anes. Code (default): To search for a crosswalk using the anesthesia CPT code. Anes. Description: To search for a crosswalk using the description of the anesthesia CPT code. Surg. Code: To search for a crosswalk using the surgical procedure CPT code. Surg. Description: To search for a crosswalk using the description of the surgical procedure CPT code. Select the Search for keyphrase anywhere in the item check box to search for the text entered in the Type the first letter(s) of the item you want to locate field anywhere in the line item. If endoscopy is entered and the check box is not selected, the search identifies line items with descriptions that start the word endoscopy. Use the following procedure to add or modify a crosswalk entry for an ASA and Surgery code combination from the Crosswalk Library Search window: From the bottom section of the window, do one of the following: To create a new crosswalk entry, select open menu button and select New. The Add Crosswalk Library window opens. To modify an existing crosswalk entry, search for an ASA/surgery code crosswalk. Select the item from the list, and then select open menu button and select Open. The Modify Crosswalk Library window opens. In the Anes Code field, do one of the following: Enter the anesthesia CPT code. Select Lookup to search and select the anesthesia code from the CPT4 Code Search window. The Description field defaults from the CPT4 Codes master file and can be changed if needed. In the Surg Code field, do one of the following: Enter the surgery CPT code. Add or Modify an ASA Crosswalk Library

Access File Maintenance. Select Libraries, and then ASA Crosswalk. The ASA Crosswalk List window opens. Do one of the following: To create a new library, select open menu button and select New. To modify an existing library, select the library from the list, and then select open menu button and select Open. The Crosswalk Library Search window opens. In the Library Name field, enter a name for the library. This field is required. In the Effective Date field, enter the date the library becomes effective. This field is required. In the Expiration Date field, enter the date the library expires. This field is required. In the bottom section of the window, add or modify ASA and Surgery code combinations as needed.
