Sections Displayed on the Advisor

The following sections display on the Advisor window: Hyperlink and Messages You can create a custom Hyperlink to display in the upper-left corner of the Advisor window. This provides a way for users in the practice to easily access a website of your choice. Appointments You can view appointment statistics for the current practice. Encounters You can view encounter statistics for the current practice. The statistics shown are As of Last Night and are updated when the nightly Advisor Update Process runs. Access the Advisor

You can access the Advisor window by doing one of the following: Log in to NextGen® Enterprise PM. If the Show upon logon option is selected in the General User Preferences > Advisor tab, the Advisor window opens automatically after you log in. Accounts Receivable

You can view charge, payment, adjustment and refund statistics for the current practice. Statistics shown are As of Last Night and are updated when the nightly Advisor Update Process runs. By default, the Date Range field at the top of the section displays All To Date. Therefore, the section displays total charges, payments, adjustments and refunds processed and the outstanding AR from the first day of NextGen® Enterprise PM go-live. Select a specific Date Range to display total charges, payments, adjustments, refunds processed, and the outstanding AR for the selected date. The available options include: All to Date Current Month Current Week Last Month Last Week Year to Date The Estimated Days in AR is calculated based on the Advisor AR Avg Days Date setting in Practice Preferences > General. Manually Update the Advisor to View Real-Time Practice Statistics

You can manually update the Advisor window, which provides quick, at-a-glance details about practice locations and providers, to view a real-time summary of information and statistics, especially if the nightly update process fails to run. CAUTION: The Advisor Update is a database-intensive process that requires a large amount of system resources that affect users on the system. NextGen Healthcare recommends that this process be run after business hours and after all users have logged off from the system. Open NextGen® Enterprise PM, and select File > Processes > Advisor Update. In the confirmation message that appears, select Yes to continue and run the process.When the process is completed, an application message appears stating that the Advisor Update is successfully completed. Select OK.

Advisor Window

The Advisor window displays a summary of information and statistics for the practice. You can determine what information displays on the window by customizing your user preferences. You can also select whether you want the window to automatically display when logging in or when changing practices in NextGen® Enterprise PM. The Location field at the top of the window displays All Locations by default. Therefore, the window displays information for all locations within the current practice. Select a specific location to display information for the selected location only. The Provider field at the top of the window displays All Providers by default. Therefore, the window displays information for all rendering providers within the current practice. Select a specific provider to display information for the selected provider only. View a Practice Summary in Advisor

You can view a summary of information and statistics for the practice using the Advisor window in NextGen® Enterprise PM. It includes several sections that provide quick, at-a-glance details about locations and providers within the practice. Field/Section Description Location Display information for all locations within the current practice. Select a specific location to display information for the selected location only. Note: By default, it displays All Locations. Provider Display information for all rendering providers within the current practice. Select a specific provider to display information for the selected provider only. Note: By default, it displays All Providers. Refresh Advisor Refresh icon button Refresh and update the information displayed in the Advisor window. Note: The information in some sections does not refresh and update until the advisor update process runs overnight. Print AdvisorPrint icon button Print the information displayed in the window.
