Customizing the Advisor

There are two ways users can customize the Advisor window in NextGen® Enterprise PM: Multiple Users This is done by a system administrator by creating a Default User Prefs - General master file in File Maintenance, and then assigning it to groups of users in System Administrator. For more information on setting up user preferences in File Maintenance and System Administrator, go to the NextGen Healthcare Success Community and download the latest File Maintenance Master Files Guide for NextGen Enterprise. Individual User This is done by each user by accessing their General User Preferences in NextGen® Enterprise PM. Set up Advisor Preferences

The Advisor user preferences enable you to make settings that have an impact on the display of the Advisor window in NextGen® Enterprise PM. Access NextGen® Enterprise PM. From the Admin menu, select Preferences > User > General. The User Preferences window opens. Select the Advisor tab. To automatically display theAdvisorwindow after logging in toNextGen® Enterprise PM, select theShow upon logoncheck box. To automatically display theAdvisorwindow after changing practices inNextGen® Enterprise PM, select theShow after practice changecheck box. In the list on the left, select the check boxes for sections to display on the left side of theAdvisorwindow. In the list on the right, select the check boxes for sections to display on the right side of theAdvisorwindow. To change the order that sections display on either sides of theAdvisorwindow, select a section name in the list, and then selectorbuttons to move the section name. Run the Advisor Update Process

The statistics and information displayed on the Advisor window is automatically updated by an Advisor Update process that is scheduled to run each night. If for some reason the nightly process does not run, the Advisor can be updated by manually running the process. CAUTION: The Advisor Update is a database intensive process that requires a large number of system resources that will affect users on the system. NextGen Healthcare recommends that this process be run after business hours and after all users have logged out of the system. Access NextGen® Enterprise PM. From the File menu, select Processes, and then Advisor Update. The following prompt appears: The Advisor Update process is extremely database intensive and should only be run after hours. This process could take several minutes to several hours to run and will impact all users currently on the system. Are you sure you want to continue? To continue and run the process, select Yes.
