Rescheduling an Appointment

You can reschedule an appointment in any of the following ways: Open and Edit: You can open the appointment from any view in the Appointment Book window, except the Monthly view tab, and edit the Date and Time fields on the Edit Appointment window. Note: This is not the recommended method for rescheduling appointments. Cut and Paste: From any view in the Appointment Book window, except the Monthly view tab. In the Appointment Book window select an appointment that you want to reschedule, right-click, and select cut. You can paste the appointment in a different time slot, and do the changes in the Edit Appointment window as needed. Note: This is the recommended method for rescheduling appointments. Drag and Drop: From the Daily or Weekly List view tab of the Appointment Book window, you can select the appointment and drag and drop it on a new timeslot to reschedule the appointment. Reschedule Event Chains

Note: When you attach insurance to one or more events in the event chain, the system retains the appointment insurance if the event chain is rescheduled. From the main toolbar, select Appointments. The Appointment Lookup window opens. Select an appointment in the event chain. Right-click the appointment, and select Reschedule Event Chain. The Appointment Search Ahead window opens. Note: The Available Timeslots section of the window lists time slots available for the selected appointment in the event chain. In Available Timeslots, right-click a timeslot, and select Book Appointment. The Add Appointment window opens. Optional: Make additional modifications to the appointment. Select OK. Select a reason for rescheduling the appointment. Select OK. The Appointment Confirmation window appears with the new dates and times for events in the event chain. Event Chains Tab - Sched Admin

On the Event Chains tab, you can define groupings of events or appointment types that must be scheduled together as a series of appointments. You can use an event chain to schedule multiple appointments for a patient simultaneously instead of scheduling each appointment separately. The individual events within an event chain are referred to as event chain members. Event chain members can be scheduled with the same or different resources, within minutes, hours, or days of each other. The event chain setup determines whether the event chain members must be scheduled in a specific sequence or scheduled in a best fit sequence. Note: Specific parameters for each member event, such as resource duration overrides, default resources, appointment limits, SIM members, valid locations, and so on are defined on the Events tab of the Scheduling Administration window. Schedule an Event Chain

Multiple events grouped together are called an Event Chain. Each individual event within an event chain is called an event chain member. You can schedule the events in a defined sequence. Note: When you create an event chain in Scheduling Administration, you must specify if the event chain needs to be scheduled sequentially or the sequence does not matter. Open NextGen® Enterprise PM. From the main toolbar, select the ApptBook button. The Appointment Book window opens. In the Daily, Weekly Schedule or Multi-View tab, select the resource, date, and time slot for the first event in the event chain. Do one of the following: From the Appointment Book toolbar, select Add Appt . Right-click the time slot and select New. Double-click the time slot. The Add Appointment window opens. In the Event/Event Chain field, select the desired event chain. Note: Event chains appear with a chain link icon. After you select the event chain, the duration appears automatically.
