Recall/Waitlist Tab

The Recall/Waitlist tab on the Add Appointment window displays active recall plans, follow-ups, and wait list items for the patient. The Recalls section displays recall information including the recall plan name, date added, last date, return date, event, resource, location, and letter mailing dates. This section also displays the dates scheduled to send messages as per the recall plan setup in File Maintenance; and the actual dates of sending the messages to the patient using NextGen® EDI services. The Follow Ups section displays information from NextGen® Enterprise EHR including follow-up description, reason, and time frame. Information from NextGen® Enterprise PM includes appointment date and time. The Waitlist section displays wait list information including begin date/time, end date/time, event, resource, location and status. A blue push pin icon displays on the tab if the patient has an active recall, follow-up, or waitlist appointment. Users can resize and rearrange the columns

Add Patient Preferences for EDI Messaging

The EDI Messaging window is only available to practices that have an EDI license. The options in the reminders fields are determined by your system administrator. Use this window to identify how the patient wants to receive reminders. NextGen EDI services uses the NextGen EDI Console to create and send the reminders to the patient. Open the Add/Modify Person/Patient Information window for the applicable person/patient. Select the hyperlink. The EDI Messaging window opens. On the EDI Messaging window do the following and then select OK. NextGen EDI Messaging Practice Preferences

After entering your logon information, you can use this tab to identify the Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) notification preferences for your practice. All the preferences listed in the Default Method list display on the Patient Information window of the Demographics tab and EDI Messaging window. The link on the Patient Information > Demographics tab. At least one Notification Messaging reminder method needs to be selected for the link to appear on the Patient Information on the Demographics tab. On the Patient Information of the Demographics tab, when you select the link, the EDI Messaging window appears. You can select the patient's preferred method of contact for EDI reminders on this window. To open this window, select Admin > Preferences > NextGen EDI Services > NextGen EDI Messaging tab. Patient Recall Report

The Patient Recall report displays patients that have one or more recall plans in NextGen® Enterprise PM. The report includes detailed plan information including letter dates, appointment dates and basic demographics information. This report can be used to monitor the effectiveness of recall plans in ensuring patients schedule their return visits. It can also aid in determining if there are recall plans that need to be stopped manually, in cases where no auto discontinue options were selected in the setup of the plan in File Maintenance. Data on the report can be filtered using options available on the Report Filter window: Filter 1 options include the 1st/2nd/3rd Letter Sent dates, Expected Return dates, including Active and/or Inactive Plans, and including or excluding Expired Patients. This filter also includes the first, second, and third dates when the messages were sent to the patient using NextGen® EDI services. EDI Hyperlink and EDI Messaging Window

When selected, the EDI Messaging window appears and you can identify and set the patient's notification preferences for balance reminders, appointment reminders, and recall plans. The options on this window are determined by your system administrator and can include email, SMS (text), and voice reminders. The icons that display correspond to the patient's preferences as selected in the EDI Messaging window. The following icons display for the notification types: Notifications Type Description Email This contact is used to send EDI notifications via email if the patient has opted to receive them. SMS (Text) This contact is used to send EDI notifications via text message if the patient has opted to receive them. Voice This contact is used to send EDI notifications via voice reminder if the patient has opted to receive them. The EDI Console sends the reminder messages to the patient.
