Modify a Case on the Patient Chart
You can modify a case in
NextGen® Enterprise PM
at any time.
Access the chart for the patient.
Select the
Case Management
tab.
Select the open menu
icon and select
Open
. Alternatively, right-click on a case in the
Cases
window and select
Open
.
Make any necessary modifications to the selected Case or the related data.
Select
OK
.

Create a New Case in NextGen Enterprise PM
This procedure provides instructions for creating a case. On the General tab of the patient chart, you can enter related cases, diagnosis and procedures codes, case contacts, and select encounters to include in the case. Each new Case is automatically assigned a numeric Case Number. All Case Numbers are sequential. To access a patient's chart, select the chart icon and search for the applicable patient. Open the patient's chart and then select Case Management. The Cases window opens. To access the Case Management window, select the open menu icon and select New. In the Available Encounters list, select the encounters that you want to add to the case. The Case Management window displays the name of the selected patient and the Case #. Enter the reason for creating the case, in the Case Description field. Enter the date the condition first occurred, in the Onset Date field. Enter all available additional information on the General tab. Select the Financial tab and enter all pertinent Pay

Modify Patient Information
You can modify and update the demographic information in a patient chart. Open NextGen® Enterprise PM. On the main toolbar, select Chart or Chart Lookup Chart Lookup icon. The Patient Lookup window opens. In the Search Criteria section, enter the patient's information, and select Find. Patient records that match the search criteria, appear in the Matching Records section. Select the patient, and then select Open. The patient chart opens. In the Patient Information tab, select the Demographics tab and then select open folder Open Folder icon next to Name. The Modify Patient Information window opens. Update the desired fields. Modify a Case in NextGen® Enterprise EHR
You can modify a case in NextGen® Enterprise EHR at any time. In NextGen® Enterprise EHR, select a patient from the Patient Lookup window. On the Encounter History tab, select an encounter that has case, and select the Case Options icon and then select Properties. Note: Some Cases can be marked as Private. If you have selected a case that is marked private, then you must have proper user rights and permissions to access that case information. The Case Management window opens. Modify Patient Information in NextGen® Enterprise PM
Open NextGen® Enterprise PM. Select the Chart icon. The Patient Lookup window opens. Enter the search criteria and selectFind. TheMatching Recordslist displays the records that meet the search criteria. Right-click the desired patient and select Open from the menu. The Modify Patient Information window appears displaying the demographic information of the selected patient. Modify the fields as required and selectOKto save the changes. Open a Patient Chart from a Group Appointment
Open NextGen® Enterprise PM. On the main toolbar, select ApptBook. Select the Group Check-in icon. The group modal window opens. Select the member's individual appointment. Enroll a Patient in Enterprise Chart from the Modify Patient Information Window
If you did not enroll a new patient in Enterprise Chart from the Add Patient Information window, you can enroll the patient manually from the Modify Patient Information window. This option is available in the NextGen® Enterprise EHR, NextGen® Enterprise PM, and NextGen® Optical Management applications. Access the Patient Lookup window. Perform a search for the applicable patient. Select the patient. Do one of the following: Select the Open Menu button, and select Open. In NextGen® Enterprise EHR, from the File menu, select Modify Patient. The Demographics tab of the Modify Patient Information window appears. Select the Enterprise Chart check box. Select OK. The existing patient is enrolled in Enterprise Chart. Note: For a patient newly enrolled in Enterprise Chart, you may need to reopen the patient's chart to view information from other practices.
