View Significant Events for Charge Discounts
You can view significant events for charge discounts from the following areas in NextGen® Enterprise PM. Patient Chart > Clinical History/Notes tab Significant Events Report To view the significant events for charge discounts in Patient Chart > Clinical History/Notes tab, do the following: Open NextGen® Enterprise PM. Select Chart. The Patient Lookup window opens. Enter Search Criteria to locate the desired patient. Select Find. All existing persons and patients that match the search criteria display in the Matching Records section of the window. In the Matching Records list, double-click to open the patient. The Patient Chart window opens. Select the Clinical History/Notes tab. Select History, and then select Encounters. The section on the right displays significant event messages for all encounters. Each message includes Date/Time, Creator, and Description information. Messages related to charge discounts include the following: Patient Discount [Transaction Code] Created Patient Disc

Significant Events for Charge Discounts
You can enable significant events to track user activity related to charge discounts in NextGen® Enterprise PM. It includes adding, modifying or deleting discounts on an encounter from the Discounts window that is accessed from the Charge Posting toolbar. When significant events are enabled, messages are recorded in the Patient Chart on the Clinical History/Notes tab when the event occurs. Each message recorded includes date/time, creator, and description information. Significant event messages for charge discounts include the following: Records Patient Discount <Name of Discount> Created: when discounts are applied to charges on an encounter. Records Patient Discount < Name of Discount> Deleted (In Progress): when discounts are deleted from charges on an In Progress encounter. Records Patient Discount <Name of Discount> Edited: when the charge discounts are modified on an encounter. Enable Significant Events for Encounters
Access NextGen® Enterprise PM. From the Admin menu, select Preferences, and then Significant Events. The Significant Event Information window appears. Setting Up Charge Discounts
The Charge Discounts functionality in NextGen® Enterprise PM involves the following setup: Enable discounts for a practice in the Practice Preferences window. flag payers as either contracted or non-contracted for discounts in the Payers window. Create adjustment transaction codes for discounts in the Transaction Codes window. Enable tracking of discounts within a practice in the Significant Events window. Set up user security access rights for discounts in System Administration. Enable Charge Discounts in Practice Preferences You can enable charge discounts on the Charges tab in the Practice Preferences window. Set up Payers for Charge Discounts You can set up payers for charge discounts on the Modify Payer Information window. Set up Transaction Codes for Charge Discounts You can set up transaction codes on the Transaction Code List window for charge discounts. Activate Significant Events
In NextGen® Enterprise PM, select Admin > Preferences > Significant Events. The Significant Events Information window opens and displays the following columns: Significant Events: Lists all the significant events the application tracks. Level: Specifies whether the application tracks significant events across the entire enterprise or system or for individual practices. NextGen Enterprise PM
Access the NextGen® Enterprise PM. From the Admin menu, select Preferences, and then Significant Events. The Significant Event Information window opens. Select or deselect the check box for the desired System Level, Enterprise Level or Practice Level significant events. To save changes and close the window, select OK.
