Daily Encounters (Encounters Listing) Report

The Daily Encounters (Encounters Listing) report is encounter based and displays every encounter for a specified date range. The report is sorted by practice, location name, rendering provider, payer name, financial class, and the encounter date and number. Totals are sum of charge amounts, and average of encounter age, with a subtotal for rendering provider within each practice, subtotal for each practice, and grand total of all practices. You also have the option to show the number of charges per encounter and generate the total sum of the number of charges for all the encounters listed. The totals generated by default include the total per encounter, the total count for all encounters for each provider, each location, and the practice.

To access the report in NextGen® Enterprise PM, select the Reports menu and select Daily and then select Encounters.

From the Report Filter window, select the Info button to view the following information about the report:

Logic:
  • This report will return one line item for each Encounter with a Billable property based on the date range in Filter 1.
Filtering Info:
  • All encounter statuses are selected by default.
Common Uses:
  • Verifying productivity by check-in staff.
  • Auditing insurance policy entries.
  • Monitoring co-pay collections.
  • Calculate average charges per encounter.
  • Evaluate number of encounters by “Patient Type”.
