Create an Event Chain On-the-Fly

If an event chain that you need does not exist, then you can create an event chain on-the-fly when scheduling an appointment.

  1. Open the Add Appointment window or the Appointment Search Ahead window.
  2. Select the open menu button next to the Event/Event Chain field and select Create Event Chain.

    The On-The-Fly Event Chain window opens.

  3. Select events from the Available Events list and select the arrow to move them to the Member Events list.
  4. If you want to add the on-the-fly event chain to scheduling administration for future use, enter a name in the Event Chain field and enter a 1 - 3 character abbreviated name in the Short field.
  5. Configure the following event chain options, as needed:
    • Event Sequence Matters: You can select this option to schedule the appointment for the Member Events in order.
    • Allow Events to Span Multiple Days: You can select this option if the Member Events can be scheduled across multiple days.
    • Linked Events: You can select this option if the appointments for all Member Events should be checked-in simultaneously and linked to the same encounter.
    • Allow Event Duration Override: You can select this option to help you override or change the duration of Member Events.
    • Add this Event to Scheduling Admin: You can select this option if you want to add the on-the-fly event chain to the available events in scheduling administration.
  6. Select OK to save changes and close the window.
