window for a case.
Select the open menu

Enter the case contact details and select
OK
to save the details.
Note:
The saved case contact details can be modified only in
NextGen® Enterprise PM
. Except for
Name

Role
, all other contact details can be modified.

Add a Case Management Contact
You can select a case contact for each case as desired. Also, you can create a new case contact for a case. Enter all required and optional case information on the General tab. Select the open menu icon. Select New. The Case Contact Lookup window opens. Perform a Case Contact search. Select a Case Contact. Select Close. Parent topic: Set up General Case Information

Modify Case Contact Rights
Case contact information is secured and controlled within File Maintenance. Modifications in the NextGen® Enterprise PM application are only applicable at an individual patient level. Any modifications in File Maintenance are applicable to all patients based on case contact security settings enabled within System Administrator. Note: The security rights set in System Administrator can allow you to create, view, and delete case contacts. Access the System Administrator application. Select a group and then select the Rights tab. Under Modules, select File Maintenance > Case Contacts. Set the ability for the Case Contacts group to view, add, update, delete, and print cases. This security allows security in File Maintenance. Under Operations, select Chart/Demographics/Employer > Case Contact Addition and then select one of the following: Yes to grant permission for users to create new, open, and delete the case contacts at individual patient level. Create a Case
Before you begin Ensure that the View Case Management checkbox is selected in the user-level settings to turn on the case management on the Encounters tab. Any changes made to the Patient's Encounter preferences occur only after you reload the Encounters tab. Open NextGen® Enterprise PM. To create a case, do one of the following: On the Encounters tab, select an encounter, and select the Encounter Options icon and then select Case. From the File menu, select New > Case. Create Cases in an Encounter
Before you begin In Practice Preferences, you must turn on Enable Case Management on the Case Management tab in File Maintenance. You can view and group the common patient encounter data in a case. Open NextGen® Enterprise PM. On the main toolbar, select Chart, and then in Patient Lookup, enter your search criteria, and then select Find. Matching people and patient records appear in the search results. In Matching Records, select a patient record , and then select Open. The Patient Information tab opens in the Patient Chart window. Select the Encounters tab, select the Case Management tab, and then select an encounter. The cases associated with the selected encounter appear. Select the open menu icon next to Case Management, and then select New. In the Case Management window, enter the necessary information, and then select OK. Modify a Case on the Patient Chart
You can modify a case in NextGen® Enterprise PM at any time. Access the chart for the patient. Select the Case Management tab. Select the open menu icon and select Open. Alternatively, right-click on a case in the Cases window and select Open. Make any necessary modifications to the selected Case or the related data. Select OK. Parent topic: Creating a Case
