Scheduling Administration
Scheduling Administration is an important function in NextGen® Enterprise PM. The Scheduling Administration creates the Appointment Book window and helps you schedule appointments for patients in a practice. Note: When you select the Enable Enterprise Appointment Scheduling option in Practice Preferences window, the Scheduling Admin option on the Admin menu displays the following two options: Enterprise Practice The following tabs are available in the Scheduling Administration window: Classes Resources Events Event Chains Categories Weekly Templates Daily Templates For scheduling appointments on the practice level using the Appointment Search Ahead window, you must complete the configuration for the practice in Practice Scheduling Administration for each practice. Enterprise Scheduling Administration
In NextGen® Enterprise PM, Enterprise Scheduling Administration is available if you have access to more than one practice for which the Enable Enterprise Scheduling Administration practice preference is enabled and Enterprise Scheduling Administration permission in System Administration is set to Yes. You can open Enterprise Scheduling Administration in the following ways. By selecting Admin> Scheduling Admin> Enterprise. By selecting the icon in Appointment Book. The Enterprise Scheduling Administration window has the following tabs: Enterprise Class Resources Enterprise Events Service Locations Enterprise Class You can view, add, edit, and delete enterprise classes, and print an enterprise class listing report. Resources - Enterprise Scheduling Admin You can view the resources from all the practices to which you have access and for which Enterprise Appointment Scheduling is enabled. Configuring User Preferences for Locations
You can define your preferred locations and configure the order of those locations in NextGen® Enterprise PM and NextGen® Enterprise EHR. You can also define whether the Location fields throughout the NextGen® Enterprise PM and NextGen® Enterprise EHR applications and reporting are limited to only your preferred locations. In File Maintenance, location preferences can be defined in the Default User Prefs - Locations master file, and then assigned to groups of users or individual users in System Administrator. In NextGen® Enterprise PM, you can modify your own location preferences in Admin > Preferences > User > Locations. Appointment Scheduling Preferences
Appointment Scheduling Preferences control how specific functions and tasks work in the Appointment Book in NextGen® Enterprise PM. While some settings are strictly for customizing the display, others affect the application behavior. You must complete these settings before opening the Appointment Book for the first time. In File Maintenance, scheduling preferences can be defined in the Default User Prefs - Scheduling master file, and then assigned to groups of users or individual users in System Administrator. In NextGen® Enterprise PM, you can modify your own scheduling preferences in Admin > Preferences > User > Scheduling. User Preferences
User Preferences contain the: same list of preferences as Universal Preferences. However, user Preferences override Universal Preferences. For details about each of these preferences, see Universal Preferences. same fields that assign the NextGen® Enterprise PM User Prefs master files to the user that are on the Groups > General tab. Selections in these fields override any selections made previously on the Locations tab, at the group level, or at the user level in the NextGen® Enterprise PM User Preferences. Select the required user. Select the Preferences tab. In the list on the left side of the Preferences tab, select the folder you want to set up. The list on the right side updates to display all available preferences in the folder and any defined values. In the Preference column, double-click the preference you want to set up. Default User Prefs
You can specify default user preferences settings in the Default User Prefs master files. After you apply the master files to individual users or to all users within a group, the settings become the default User Preferences in NextGen® Enterprise PM for those users. In addition, you can restrict users from changing the defaults.
