When you enter charges on an encounter that is linked to a program with service item, diagnosis or provider credential limitations defined in File Maintenance, a warning message displays if a charge does not meet all program requirements.
Note: The Enable Charge Entry Warnings check box must be selected in the Programs master file.
On the Charge Posting window, when a mismatch is found between the encounter program and the charge, one or more of the following warning messages displays after selecting Save to save the charge.
- Mismatch between the encounter Program and the charge Service Item:
The Service Item is not valid for this program.
- Mismatch between the encounter Program and the charge Diagnosis:
The Diagnosis Code(s) are not valid for this program.
- Mismatch between the encounter Program and the charge Rendering:
The Rendering charge provider does not have required credential for this program.
- Mismatch between the encounter Program and the charge Service Item, Diagnosis and Rendering:
Note: After selecting OK on a warning messages, the charge is saved. To correct the mismatch, open the charge and make the necessary modifications.
