Charge Posting Additional Fields

When enabled, additional fields appear on the Charge Posting window. One or more of these fields may be needed for specific types of billing.

The following additional fields are available.

Field	Description	Settings
Tooth	Selects a tooth for a dental charge.	Practice Preferences > Charge Entry > Display tooth, surface, quadrant.
Surface	Selects one or more tooth surfaces for a dental charge.	Practice Preferences > Charge Entry > Display tooth, surface, quadrant.
Quadrant	Selects an area of the mouth for a dental charge.	Practice Preferences > Charge Entry > Display tooth, surface, quadrant.
Batch	You can enter a free-text batch description for each charge.	Practice Preferences > Charge Entry > Display batch information.
Additional Provider	Selects an additional provider for a charge, such as a nurse.	Practice Preferences > Charge Entry > Addtl prov.
MD Anesthesia	Selects a Medical Director of Anesthesia provider for an anesthesia charge.	Anesthesia Library > All Medical Directors will have a provider specialty of.
Referring	Selects a referring provider for a charge. Note: A charge-level referring provider overrides the encounter-level referring provider.	Practice Preferences > Charge Entry > Display referring providers.
Ordering	Selects an ordering provider for a charge. Note: A charge-level ordering provider overrides the encounter-level ordering provider.	Practice Preferences > Charge Entry > Display ordering providers.
Start/Stop Time	You can enter begin and end times for an anesthesia charge or a behavioral health charge.	Service Items Library > Anesthesia SIM or Behavioral Health.
Total	Displays the total number of minutes calculated from the Start/Stop Times entered for an anesthesia or behavioral health charge.	Service Items Library > Anesthesia SIM or Behavioral Health.
Base Unit	Displays the base units defined for an anesthesia charge.	Service Items Library > Base Unit. Note: Ensure to enable Anesthesia SIM check box.
Alt Code	You can enter an alternate code for an anesthesia charge. The Alt Code overrides the anesthesia CPT4 code on paper and electronic claims.	Service Items Library > Anesthesia SIM.
Total Anes Units	Displays the total anesthesia units for an anesthesia charge. Base Units + Time Units + Modifier Units = Total Units	Service Items Library > Anesthesia SIM.
UDF Price 1 & 2	You can enter alternate prices for a charge. Note: These fields are used with Advanced SIM Library Mode.	Enterprise Preferences > Libraries > User Defined Price Description 1 and User Defined Price Description 2.
Process Date	You can enter a past date on a charge, so the charge falls into a previous financial period for reporting purposes.	System Administrator > Group > Rights > Operations > Charge Entry > Charge Process Date Override = Yes.
Risk Adjust Diagnosis Indicator	Displays for ICD codes that are flagged as such in the ICDCM Codes master file.	Practice Preferences > Charge Entry > Differentiate Risk Adjusted diagnoses.
