Change the Default Sort Order when Printing in Batch Mode

In the instructions below, printing in batch mode from Encounters Lookup is used to explain the setup, which applies to both form and label templates.

To change the data field default printing sort order when printing in batch mode:

  1. From the Main menu select Tasks and then Lookup and Encounters.
    The Encounter Lookup window appears.
  2. Enter the appropriate criteria and select Find.
  3. In the search results, put a check mark next to the appropriate patient records.
  4. After selecting the records, right-click and select Print Forms from the menu.
    The Print Forms window appears.
  5. Select the applicable form template from the Template drop-down list.
  6. Select the Template SortingOpen Record button.
  7. The Template Sorting Preference window displays, which shows the data fields that were selected as the default printing sort order for the form template. You can change the sorting order of the default data fields by using the Promote/Demote buttons.
  8. Select OK.
  9. Select Preview on the Print Forms window.
    The records that were selected will display based on the sort order of the selected data fields, and they will print in that same order.
