Alerts Report

The Alerts report can be used to generate a list of custom alert messages that display to users in NextGen® Enterprise PM. Custom alerts are created by users in a guarantor's Account Profile > Notes tab, or in a patient's Patient Chart > Clinical History/Notes tab. From the report window, you can "drill-down" to the account or chart to see the actual alert message. Note: The Alerts report does not include system-generated alert messages that display based on settings in Practice Preferences > Alerts. Alerts

Alerts in NextGen® Enterprise PM are pop-up windows that display to capture your attention with important information that is related to the current task. Most alerts are system generated and display based on settings in Practice Preferences > Alerts. Other alerts are user generated and display based on entries made in the Account Profile and Patient Chart. The Alerts practice preferences control when the Chart, Account, Appointment Scheduling, Managed Care, Payer, and System alerts display in NextGen® Enterprise PM and NextGen® Optical Management. You are also able to select which system generated alerts should or should not appear for patients. Note: NextGen® Enterprise PM alerts can also display in NextGen® Enterprise EHR from the Patient Information Bar. Chart Alerts The following options determine when users see Chart Alerts in NextGen® Enterprise PM. Field Name Description Account Chart alerts when users access the Account Profile window for the guarantor. Chart Chart alerts when users access the Patient Chart window for the patient. Encounter Chart alerts when users open an encounter for the patient. Task Chart alerts when users open a task for the patient. Appointment Chart alerts when users open an appointment for the patient. System The System options under Chart Alerts display system-generated alerts with chart alerts. Note: The Expired, Co-Managed, and After Care Days check boxes are not available if none of the Chart Alert check boxes ( Account, Chart, or Encounter) are selected. Set Preferences to View NextGen® Enterprise PM Alerts in NextGen Enterprise EHR

You must enable the following practice preferences to include NextGen® Enterprise PM alerts in NextGen® Enterprise EHR and display visual indicators for them on the Patient Information Card. Note: You can add or edit these alerts only from NextGen® Enterprise PM. Access NextGen® Enterprise PM. From the Admin menu, select Preferences > Practice. The Practice Preferences window opens. In the Preference List pane, select Patient Information Bar. Viewing, Acknowledging, and Assigning Alerts

You can set up NextGen® Enterprise EHR patient alerts to inform providers of specific concerns about the current patient and have them acknowledge the information. You can assign alerts to individual patients, or if you are a system administrator, you can assign alerts to all patients in a practice. To perform alerts actions, you must have access rights under Modules, Medical Records, Patient Alerts in System Administrator.
