Statement Parameter Mappings Master File

The Statement Parameter Mappings master file is used to link Statement libraries to a financial class based on whether payers in the financial class are primary, secondary or tertiary on encounters. Add or Modify Statement Parameter Mappings You can add or modify statement parameter mappings on the Statement Parameter Mappings List window. Parent topic: Setting Up Statement Messages

Add or Modify Statement Parameter Mappings

Open File Maintenance. Select Master Files > Practice > Statement Parameter Mappings. The Statement Parameter Mappings List window opens. Do one of the following: To add new mappings, select Open Menu and then select New. To modify existing mappings, select the item in the list. Select Open Menu, and then select Open. The Map Statement Parameters window opens. In the Financial Class field field, select a financial class for one or more linked Statement Libraries. This field is required. Note: If you select a self-pay financial class, then you can only select a single library as there are no secondary or tertiary payers on self-pay encounters. In the When Primary field, select the primary Statement Library. This field is required. In the When Secondary field, select the secondary Statement Library. In the When Tertiary field, select the tertiary Statement Library. In the Note field, enter any additional information for the mappings. The note does not print on statements. To save changes

Link Statements Libraries to a Payer

The Payers master file is used when one or more payer specific Statement libraries is created. Payer specific libraries are linked to the payer and will override the libraries defined in the Statement Parameter Mappings master file for the financial class to which the payer is assigned. Open File Maintenance. Select System Master Files, then PM, and then Payers. The Payers List window opens. Select and open the desired Payer. The Modify Payer Information window opens. Select the Practice tab, and then the Libraries sub-tab. In the Statement Library section, select the library for primary, secondary, or tertiary encounters. Add or Modify Statement Messages

Open File Maintenance. Select System Master Files > PM > Statement Messages. The Statement Messages List window opens. Do one of the following: To add a new statement message, select the Open Menu button and select New. To modify an existing statement message, select the item in the list. Select the Open Menu button, and then select Open. The Modify Statement Message window opens. In the Message Code field, enter a code for the message being defined. The code prints on detail statements next to the charge line item and in front of the Brief Statement Message and/or Long Statement Message. This field is required. In the Description (Message Name) field, enter a description for the message being defined. The description is not printed on statements. This field is required. In the Brief Statement Message (Line-Item Message) field, enter a short message to print on detail statements next to the charge line item.
