Add or Modify an Event Chain
- In NextGen® Enterprise PM, select Admin > Scheduling Admin.
Note: When you select the Enable Enterprise Appointment Scheduling option in Practice Preferences window, the Scheduling Admin option on the Admin menu displays the following two options:
- Enterprise
- Practice
The Scheduling Administration window opens. - Select the Event Chains tab.
- Do one of the following:
- To add a event chain, select the open menu
button, and select New.
- To modify an existing event chain, select the event chain in the list, select the open menu
button, and select Open.
The Add Event Chain or Edit Event Chain window opens. - To add a event chain, select the open menu
- In the Event Chain field, enter a name for the event chain. The name appears in the Event Chain field on the Add Appointment or Edit Appointment window when you schedule appointment for the event chain. This is a mandatory field.
- In the Short field, enter a 1 - 3 character description for the event chain.
- In the Details field, enter any additional notes for the event chain. The notes appear in the Details field on the Add Appointment window when scheduling appointments for the event chain.
Note: You much select the Pull details from event details option in the Appt Scheduling tab of the Practice Preferences window, for the event chain details to display on the Add Appointment window.
- Select the following event chain options as required.
- Event Sequence Matters
- Allow Events to Span Multiple Days
- Linked Events
- Allow Event Duration Overrides
- Select the add
and remove
buttons to associate events with the event chain. The Available Events section lists all existing events. The Member Events section lists the events that are part of the event chain.
- Select an event from the Available Events list, then select the add
button.
The event is added to the list of events that are part of the event chain. - Select an event from the Member Events list, then select the remove
button.
The event is deleted from the list of member events and moves to the Available Events list. - To change the sequence of the events in the list of the member events, select an event, and select the Promote
or Demote
button to move the event up or down in the list.
- After adding the events to the Member Events list, right-click an event and select Open to configure the event chain.
- Select OK to save the changes and close the window.
The Scheduling Administration > Event Chains tab displays all existing event chains.
