Add a Patient Group

To add a patient group in NextGen® Enterprise PM or NextGen® Enterprise EHR, do the following: Open Patient Groups. The Patient Group Search window opens. Search for a Patient Group. If the group you are searching for is not listed in the Matching Records section of the Patient Group Search window, do one of the following to add a new group: Select New. Select Open Menu and select New. Right-click and select New. The Patient Group window opens. On the General tab, enter general information for the group. Select the Members tab to add members to the group. To save changes and close the window, select OK. Note: The Appointments tab is blank when a new patient group is added. For an existing patient group, the tab displays future group appointments scheduled for the group. Modify a Patient Group

To modify a patient group in NextGen® Enterprise PM or NextGen® Enterprise EHR, do the following: Access Patient Groups. The Patient Group Search window opens. Search for a Patient Group. In the Matching Records section of the Patient Group Search window, select a group to be modified and then do one of the following: Select Open. Select Open Menu and select Open. Right-click and select Open. The Patient Group window opens. On the General tab, modify general information for the group. Select the Members tab to do any of the following: Add members to the group. Access for a member in the group. Remove members from the group. Transfer members from the group to another group. Add a member to an existing group appointment. Select the Appointments tab to view future group appointments scheduled for the group. To save changes and close the window, select OK. Patient Groups Report

The Patient Groups report lists groups that have been created in either NextGen® Enterprise EHR or NextGen® Enterprise PM, including all patients added to or removed from each group. By default, the report is sorted by patient group name. To access the report in NextGen® Enterprise PM, select the Reports menu and select General and then select Patient Groups. Setup Access Rights for Group Scheduling

To work with patient groups, group appointments, and group encounters in NextGen® Enterprise PM and NextGen® Enterprise EHR, users must have security access rights in System Administrator. Access System Administrator. The NextGen System Administrator window opens. On the left, select to expand an enterprise and then a practice. Select a user group within the practice. Select the Rights tab. To enable users to add or modify Patient Groups in NextGen® Enterprise PM and NextGen® Enterprise EHR, do the following: Select to expand Operations, and then select Patient Group. In the Access Rights section, select Yes. To enable users to schedule Group Appointments in NextGen® Enterprise PM, do the following: Select to expand Modules, then expand Scheduling, and then select Appointments. In the Access Rights section, select Add. View Appointments for the Active Patient

In NextGen® Enterprise PM, open the Appointment Lookup window by doing one of the following: From the main toolbar, select the Appt List button. From the Tasks menu, select Lookup, and then Appointments. Appointment Lookup window Select the arrow next to Find, and then select Access Active Patient from the menu. Enable Group Scheduling

To utilize the patient groups, group appointments, and group encounters functionality in NextGen® Enterprise PM, an option must be enabled in Practice Preferences. Access NextGen® Enterprise PM. From the Admin menu, select Preferences, and then Practice. The Practice Preferences window opens. From the Preference List, select Appt Scheduling. Select the Enable Group Scheduling check box.
