Switch to Another Practice in File Maintenance

When you log on to File Maintenance, the enterprise and practice you are using display in the upper left corner of the File Maintenance window. Changes you make in File Maintenance will only affect this enterprise and practice. You can switch to another practice without having to log off and then log on again. Note: Your rights can change when you switch to another practice if your assigned rights are different for that practice. To switch to another practice, do one of the following: If the practice is in the same enterprise, select the practice from the Practice field. If the practice is in another enterprise, select the enterprise from the Enterprise field, then select the practice from the Practice field. Create a Practice in the Enterprise You Are Logged Into

When you are logged into an enterprise in File Maintenance, you can create or modify any practice within that enterprise. To create a practice in an enterprise that is different from the one you are logged into, refer to Create a Practice in a Specific Enterprise. Access File Maintenance, and select Master Files > System. Select the Practices icon. The Practices List Access window opens. Select the open menu button and then select New. The Practice Defaults tab on the Add Practice Information window opens. Enter the practice information. Click OK. The new practice does not display in the Practices List because you do not have access to it. In the System Administrator application, you must add a group to the practice and you must be a member of the group. Parent topic: Practices Master File

Create Your First Enterprise

Your installation includes a default enterprise that you use to log in to File Maintenance for the first time. After you log in with the default, you can create your first enterprise. After you create this new enterprise and set up your rights, you are no longer required to log in under the default to create additional enterprises. CAUTION: Contact NextGen Healthcare Support before you attempt to create additional enterprises. Log on to File Maintenance. Note: Until you create additional enterprises, you can only select Default Practice and Default Enterprise in the login window. The NextGen File Maintenance window opens. Under Master Files, select System > Enterprises. The Enterprises List window opens. Create the enterprise that you want to add a new practice to. Before you begin You must be logged into your NextGen® Document Management account. You can change the enterprise and practice that NextGen® Document Management accesses. On the toolbar, select Tasks, and then select Change Practice.The Practice Change window opens. Select either a new enterprise, a new practice, or both.
