Adjust Counters

From the Master Files - System list, select Counters. The Counters window opens. In the Counter field, select the counter type that you want to set. Next value generated will be indicates the next number that will be applied. Highest [Counter] Number for practice/system is displays the highest number last applied for the selected counter. Whether "practice" or "system" displays in this message indicates whether the counter is system wide or practice-specific. In the Adjust counter so next value will be field, type the new number for the counter. This number is the new starting number for any records that are created. Each time you create a subsequent record, this number increases by one and becomes that record's counter number. Select Set to save your changes. Select Close. Counters

A counter is a number that is automatically and sequentially applied when you create a record in the application. These record counters give you a reference point when you navigate through a set of records. Setting counters enables you to designate new "start-at" numbers for a practice. For example, if you already have a numbering system in place for your charts and the last chart created was "3,786", you can set the counter for medical records to start at "3,787." You can even set the counter for "4,000" if you want to set an obvious starting point. Set Required Fields in Chart Preferences for Patient Demographics

Your system administrator can select specific fields as required in the Chart preferences. Enable Interval Overrides for the Practice

The Appointment Scheduling Practice Preferences enable you to set options and default information for the appointment book for your practice and all related service locations. You can also enable interval overrides for the practice. CAUTION: If the interval overrides is enabled and you later want to disable it, changing the resource's time interval deletes all scheduling data currently in place for the resource. This includes: member classes, appointment conflict checking data, appointment search ahead data, appointment wait lists, default resource assignments, event duration overrides, template assignments, and template exceptions. Select the Admin > Preferences > Practice. Select Appt Scheduling in the Preferences List. The Appt Scheduling Practice Preferences opens. Select the Allow interval overrides check box to enable time interval overrides at the resource, template, and event levels. Configure Admin Override for Users

You can assign administrative override rights to specific users within the practice. The user with administrative override permission can use admin override functionality to update the documentation that are submitted for billing from the medical record templates. On the MICS Admin Configuration system template, expand the Administration Override Configuration panel. Select the Use MICS Admin Override check box. Ensure that the Active option is selected. In the fields below the Users with Admin Override Rights grid, select the user to whom you want to grant administrative override rights. Require Client Defined Fields At the Enterprise Level

You can make the client defined fields required at the enterprise level or at the practice level. When you require a field at the enterprise level, the practice-level required option is automatically selected by default and cannot be modified. Open the Enterprise Preferences, and then select Client Defined tab. The Client Defined tab displays the Client Defined fields and their settings. To require a field, do one of the following: In the Require Always column, select to make this field required all the time for all practices in the enterprise. A displays in the column.
