Adjust Counters

From the Master Files - System list, select Counters. The Counters window opens. In the Counter field, select the counter type that you want to set. Next value generated will be indicates the next number that will be applied. Highest [Counter] Number for practice/system is displays the highest number last applied for the selected counter. Whether "practice" or "system" displays in this message indicates whether the counter is system wide or practice-specific. In the Adjust counter so next value will be field, type the new number for the counter. This number is the new starting number for any records that are created. Counters

A counter is a number that is automatically and sequentially applied when you create a record in the application. These record counters give you a reference point when you navigate through a set of records. Setting counters enables you to designate new "start-at" numbers for a practice. For example, if you already have a numbering system in place for your charts and the last chart created was "3,786", you can set the counter for medical records to start at "3,787." You can even set the counter for "4,000" if you want to set an obvious starting point. In File Maintenance, select Master Files > System, and select Practices. The Practice List access window opens. The practices that displays in this window are determined by your security rights. Assign Practice Access to a Program

The Programs master file is a system-level table. Therefore, all programs can potentially be accessed by any practice in any enterprise. If your enterprise includes multiple practices, you can use the Practice Access option to define which practices have access to each program. For example, Practice A and Practice B both provide services under Program XYZ, but Practice C does not. Therefore, only Practices A and B should have access to Program XYZ. Note: Multiple practices with access to the same program share all system-level parameters defined on the program System and Clinical tabs.
