Printing Preferences for Document Types

You can set up printing preferences for the following document types in NextGen® Enterprise PM. Account Receipt Anesthesia Gantt Report Appointment Reminder Letters Appointment Multi Resource Report Budget Letters Claim Images Note: You can select Claim Images to select a ADA, 1500, or UB claim type. Claims Note: You can select Claims to select a ADA, 1500, or UB claim type. Collection Letters Cost Estimate Credit Card Processing Day Timer Encounter Bills EOB Images Fee Tickets Forms Note: You can select Forms to select a specific form template. Forms Enhanced Note: You can select Forms Enhanced to select a specific enhanced form. Invoices Label Templates Note: You can select Label Templates to select a specific label. Printing Practice Preferences

The Printing Practice Preferences enables you to set printing defaults for documents that are used in NextGen® Enterprise PM. You can store printer settings at the practice level for NextGen documents and reports and for user-configured documents such as labels and forms. The settings include orientation, printer source, paper size, and number of copies. Each document type can have its own default printer setting. Instead of the users manually changing the print settings each time they print a different item, the default print settings are used for each document type being printed. Printer settings can also be set at the user level. The defaults set at the user level override the defaults at the practice level. If a user does not have user-level printer settings, the practice-level settings apply when the user prints a document. Note: Users can still change the settings at the time of printing. Open the Practice Preferences

Do one of the following: In File Maintenance, select Master Files > System > Practices. In NextGen® Enterprise PM, select the Admin > Preferences > Practice. Double-click a practice, and then select Preferences. The Practice Preferences window opens. In the Preference List, select the desired practice preference name. Set Up Orders Module Practice Preferences

Open File Maintenance and select System > Practices. Double-click a pratice. In the Modify Practice Information window, select Preferences and then select the Orders Module. There are several check boxes to set preferences for printing, the use of the NextGen Compendium, and other settings. Set Up Default General Preferences - Printing Tab

The Printing user preferences enable you to make settings that have an impact on the various types of documents that can be printed in NextGen® Enterprise PM. Note: Settings made in Practice Preferences > Printing apply to all users in the practice. Settings made in your General User Preferences > Printing override the practice-level settings.
