Windows with SOGI Fields
The following table identifies the windows and the applications that contain SOGI data. Window Applications Patient/Person Information window in the General Information header. The General Information header displays on all of the tabs of this window. For example, Demographics, Status, Employer, Relations/UDS, Ext and History. Identify SOGI Fields as Protected Content
The fields on Protected Content tab identify a patient's sexual orientation and gender identity (SOGI). If any of these fields are identified as protected content, then a user must have the appropriate security permissions in System Administrator to view the field data. For example, a patient identifies their current gender as Male and their preferred pronoun as She or They. When you select the Preferred Pronoun field, only then users with the appropriate security permissions can view the data in the Preferred Pronoun field. To access this tab use one of the following paths: In NextGen® Enterprise PM, select Preferences > Enterprise Preferences > Protected Content. In File Maintenance, select Master Files > System > Enterprises. Select the applicable Enterprise and then Preferences > Protected Content. The Enterprise Preferences > Protected Content tab opens. Protected Content Tab
The protected content settings provide you with the ability to limit users who can view data that identifies a person/patient's Sexual Orientation and Gender Identity (SOGI). When any of these fields are selected as Protected, only users with the applicable security permissions can view the data in these fields. When the user does not have the security rights to view this data Protected Content displays in these fields. The SOGI fields are: Current Gender Gender Identity Preferred Pronoun Sexual Orientation Identify SOGI Fields as Protected Content You can identify and set fields as protected content and give appropriate security permission. This report contains fields that can be identified as Protected Content in Enterprise Preferences. These fields identify a patient's sexual orientation and gender identity (SOGI). If any of these fields are identified as protected content fields, then you must have the appropriate security access rights to view the data in these fields. Patient Encounters and Financial History Patient Encounters and Financial History This section provides information on encounters and the financial history associated with an encounter. Viewing Financial Information You can view a patient's financial history, encounters, and payments in the Financial tab of the patient chart. Viewing Clinical History and Notes Information You can use the Clinical History/Notes tab to view encounter and chart related information. Viewing General Information in Encounters You can use the General tab under Encounters to view detailed information for a selected encounter. Viewing Insurance Information in Encounters You can view a patient's insurance information in the insurance tab. If any of these fields are identified as protected content fields, then you must have the appropriate security access rights to view the data in these fields.
