Rendering Provider Effective and Expiration Dates for Provider Numbers

You can set the effective and expiration dates for a rendering provider’s payer provider numbers. The following list contains the conditions that control how this feature works:

• The Effective Date and Expiration Date fields for the rendering provider’s payer provider number are required fields. However, if you do not want to use this feature then, by default, when you add a new payer to the rendering provider, the Effective Date field automatically displays the current day's date. The Expiration Date field automatically displays the current day's date 100 years in the future.
• The rendering provider can have multiple provider numbers for a payer, but only one provider number can be valid at one time. Therefore, the effective and expiration dates cannot overlap in time.
• The effective and expiration dates set up for the rendering provider’s payer provider number affect any CPT4 or CPT4 code ranges that are also set up for the provider for that practice and service location.
