Modify a Service Category

Field	Description
Category	Enter a description for the service category.
Short Description	Enter a description, up to four characters, for the service category.
Key/ Service	Displays the CPT4 Codes associated with the service category. It lists the standard numeric abbreviation and the full description for the procedures. If a code appears twice in the list, then one code is in the default Service Item library of the current practice while the other is in a different library. A check mark in a row indicates that the code resides in the default library. You can remove codes with check marks from the category. You cannot remove codes without check marks unless the matching code in the current library is removed.

Field	Description
Available	Lists all available CPT4 Codes in this category. Only the codes in the current library are listed. Enter one or more alphanumeric characters to locate a CPT4 Code in the list. Select the Search for keyphrase anywhere in the item check box if you want to see results that contain the phrase you entered anywhere in the record. Then, in the Available box, enter what you want to search for. The matching results are listed. OR Enter an asterisk ( * ) to list all the records.
Included	Lists the CPT4 Codes that are currently included in the group.
Search for the keyphrase anywhere in this field	Select to expand the search criteria to include results found anywhere within the Available list.
Search Method	Select how you want to search for codes: Def SIM Lib – search within the default Service Items library. Practice Access – search within the codes available through practice access.

Modify a Service Category

To modify a service category, perform the following steps: From Master File > Service Categories, select Open Menu and select a service category. You can right-click to open the service category. The Modify Service Category Information window appears. Field Description Category Enter a description for the service category. Manage Service Categories

In File Maintenance, you can add or remove the service items within a service category used for standing orders. Open the File Maintenance. In Master Files, select EHR under System. From EHR Master Files - System, select Service Categories.The Service Categories List window opens. In Service Categories List Search field, type the first few letters of the service category name. Select the desired category in the search window to display the Modify Service Category Information window with a list of service items available in the service category. The Key column displays the Current Procedural Terminology ( CPT® ) codes associated with the service category. The Service column lists the full description for the procedures. Modify or Search an ICDCM Code

Open File Maintenance. Select System Master Files, and then ICDCM Codes. The ICD-CM Code Search window opens. In the Search Method section, select one of the following search methods: Code or Description. Select the Search for keyphrase anywhere in the item check box if you want to see codes that contain a specific word or phrase anywhere in the description. In the Type the first letter(s) of the item you want to locate field, enter what you want to search for. The matching results list as you type. Note: You can enter an asterisk ( *) to list all records. Double-click to open the desired ICD the code. The Add/Modify ICD Code Information window opens. Complete the fields to add the ICD code. To hide an existing code, select the Hide check box. Do one of the following: To save changes and add another CPT4 code, select Next. To save changes and close the window, select OK. Add or Modify Service Unit Details

Open File Maintenance and select Libraries > Service Package. The Service Package List window opens. Select a service package. The Service Package Maintenance window opens. Double-click a service package configuration. The Service Package Configuration Maintenance window opens. To add a service unit detail row, select the open menu button and then select New. Note: You can modify an existing service unit by selecting it and making the required updates. The Add Service Unit Detail window opens. In the Service Unit Configuration section, do the following: Enter a free-text description for the service unit configuration in the Description field,. Enter a value between 1 and 9999 in units or hours in the Service Limit fields. The number represents the maximum service limit for the CPT4 and modifier combination in the Service Detail Configuration section. Set Up CPT4 Codes at the Provider Master Level

To set up CPT4 codes at the provider master level: From the Master Files > System list, select Providers. Select the appropriate provider. Select the Practice tab. Select the drop-down arrow in the ServiceLocation field and select the location where the service is performed. A list of payers displays in the Group Information section. Under Group information, double-click the payer to which you want to add CPT4 codes. The Modify Provider Practice Payer window displays. Select the Open Record button next to the CPT4 Provider Nbrs field. The Valid Provider Numbers for [Payer Name] window displays. Select the Open Menu button and select New. Note: You can open and delete existing records. You can edit existing provider numbers, but you cannot edit the CPT4 code range. The Provider Number for CPT4 Range window displays.
