Configure Practice Preference for Display of Orders

You can configure the default settings for NextGen® Enterprise EHR and NextGen® Adaptive Content Engine orders. Open File Maintenance. In Master Files, select System > Document Management, and then select Practices. The Practices List window opens. In the Practices list, double-click a practice. The Modify Practice Information window opens. Select Preferences. The Practice Preferences window opens. In Preferences List, select Orders Module. In the Orders/Results Linking section, select the default view the orders appear in the linking window. In Order Type and Default Source, select the default source that each order type collects data from. In Adaptive Content Engine Order Status Update Upon Sign-off, select a status that is displayed for each order type when you complete a NextGen® Adaptive Content Engine order from the linking screen. Link Guidelines or Tests to Scanned Document Types

You can link a guideline or test to a scanned document type to satisfy a guideline. When you scan a patient’s document into the document type with a date of service, NextGen® Enterprise EHR recognizes the date as the completed date and automatically satisfies the guideline. NextGen® Enterprise EHR also recalculates and displays a due date of the guideline on the runtime Care Guidelines template. Open File Maintenance. In Document Management Master Files - System, complete the prerequisite configurations. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. From File , select System / Practice Template.The Select Template window opens. On the Practice tab, select the All option. Select Care Guideline Setup, and then select OK. The Care Guideline Setup practice template opens. In the Manage Groups and Options panel, select the Enable Document Types to satisfy guidelines checkbox. Set Up Document Linking Practice Preferences

To link DM images to orders functions in DM and PAQ, your practice must first set up the appropriate order type filter preferences. To select the default order preferences that the system displays in DM and the PAQ for document linking, do the following: Select File Maintenance > Master Files > System > EHR > Practices > Preferences > Orders Module. Select All tab. In the Orders / Results Linking section, select the default order type to display when selecting orders to link to a scanned document. If your practice receives the majority of radiology test results as scanned documents, select Diagnostics/Radiology as the Default View. In the Order Type and Default Source section, select the Default Source for each Order Type. If your practice places the majority of your Radiology orders in NextGen® Adaptive Content Engine, select Adaptive Content Engine (as the source). If Lab Orders are placed in or processed to the Order module, select the Orders Module as the source for that order type

Add a Referral

You can select the Medications or Immunizations links at any time during the encounter to access the associated module. You can use the Referrals Order template to add a referral. Select any of the informational buttons to learn more about the Referrals Order template. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. On the Referrals Order template, in the Insurance name field, select to select from the patient's available options. Enter the insurance policy number in the Policy # field. In the To section, select Specialty/specialist name/site. To select a value from the list, select the Specialty field. Referrals Order The Provider name field fills based on the set default referral provider recipient. The Preferred Provider Picklist window opens if there are multiple referral providers (individual providers and practices) that are configured to the specialty via File Maintenance. File a Batch

After you scan a batch of documents and images into NextGen® Document Management, you can file them to make the individual documents of the batch easily available when you search for the document. The application holds the current file values when you change document types while filing batches. As you file a large batch, if the filing information does not change starting from the second page to several pages afterwards , you can select the navigation buttons to move through the pages until you reach a page that begins a new document. You can either select New Doc or select a different document type in the list to create a new document. Using the navigation buttons to move through a document while filing eliminates unnecessary database accesses since whenever you select File, you save the data to the database. Set Up the Order Type and Source View for DM and the PAQ in File Maintenance

Select File Maintenance > Master Files > System > EHR > Practices > Preferences > Orders Module. Select All tab. In the Orders / Results Linking section, select Diagnostics/Radiology as the default view.
