Enter Values for the Task Type Auto Tabs

To enter a numeric value for Auto Creation/Completion: From any of the Auto tabs on the Task Types dialog box, select the action that requires the entry of a value (indicated by a 0 or <unknown>) by selecting in the Activate column next to the action. A green check mark displays. Right-click on the Action name that you selected, and then select Open. The Task Type Options window displays. Enter a value in the Parameter fields. Depending on the action selected, the number of parameter fields displayed and the method of entering a value will vary. Enter the value for each parameter field by using the appropriate method: Typing an alphanumeric entry Selecting the up and down arrows Selecting the drop-down arrow and selecting a value from the list Selecting multiple items. Select the Open Record button, then use the arrows to move items from the Available list to the Included list. Enter Values for the Financial Class/Payer Parameter

For some task types that have a source type of Encounter, you can select either financial classes or payers for one of the parameters. Then, you must select an associated bucket (COB 1, COB 2, COB 3, or Private Pay). These actions can be used for tracking your secondary and tertiary payers. The following is an example of an action before and after values are entered: Encounter is greater than 0 days old from <Unknown> and 3rd party balance is between $0.00 and $0.00 for <financial class/payer> <Unknown> where <financial class/payer> is <Unknown> Encounter is greater than 60 days old from <Create Date> and 3rd party balance is between $25.00 and $50.00 for <payer> <Sure Pay Insurance> where <payer> is <COB 3> The unpaid balance is in the <X> bucket (where X represents the 3rd party balance, COB1 balance, and so on). Set Up Tasks for Auto Creation by Payer

On the Auto Create Payer/Fin Class tab on the Task Types window, you can set tasks to be automatically assigned to a group or to users based on the payer or the payer's financial class. When a task is created for an encounter task type, and the encounter matches the location selected on this tab, the task is assigned to the selected users and groups. To set up a task to automatically generate, perform the following steps: Open or set up a new Task Types. In the Source Type field, select Encounter. This field is required. The Auto Create Location tab is enabled. On the Auto Creation tab, select the actions that trigger the task. For more information, refer to Set Up Tasks for Auto Completion. If you want to assign a value to the task for reporting purposes, select the up and down arrows in the Task Value field. The higher the number, the more important the task is. Set Up Auto Worker Tasks to Move Balances to Patient Responsibility

This auto worker option in task types automatically moves balance from one bucket to another. For example, when the patient's insurance does not pay a balance after a specified number of days, the balance automatically moves to patient responsibility. This task is worked automatically by the application based on the Auto Worker action chosen and completed. The completed task is then reflected in the Worklog and the Edit Task dialog box in NextGen® Enterprise PM. For an encounter-based task type, the auto create action that triggers this is No third party payment received for 0 days since the claim process date for financial class <Unknown>.
