Diagnosis Categories Search

  1. From the Master Files - System list, select Diagnosis Categories.
    The Diagnosis Categories List window opens.

  2. To add a new diagnosis category, select Open Menu , then select New.
  3. To search for an existing diagnosis category to modify, follow the steps below:
    1. In the List Search field, enter what you want to search for. The matching results are listed.
    2. Double-click the diagnosis category you want to view.
      The Add/Modify Diagnosis Category Information window opens.

  4. Enter a name for the diagnosis category in the Category field.
  5. Enter a four-digit abbreviation for the diagnosis category in the Short Description field.
  6. To add an ICD code and description select Open Folder .
    The ICD Codes window opens.

  7. To add a code to the category, select the code in the Available list, then select the Include .
    The code moves from the Available list to the Included list.
  8. If necessary, select either 09 or 10 in the Show field to display only ICD9 or ICD10 codes.
  9. To remove a code from the category, select one in the Included list, then select the Exclude .
    The code moves from the Available list to the Included list.
  10. Select OK.
    The Add/Modify Diagnosis Category Information window opens again.
  11. To have this diagnosis category displayed in lists within NextGen® Enterprise EHR or NextGen® Enterprise PM, select Show in NextGen® Enterprise PM and Show in NextGen® Enterprise EHR as needed.
  12. If you want to hide the item in the list, select the Hide check box.
  13. Select Next to add another item or select OK to return to the Diagnosis Categories List window.
