Configure Barcode Labels

You can configure the settings that your barcode printer uses while printing barcode labels using the Barcode Label Configuration master file.

  1. In File Maintenance, from the Master Files > Optical Management list, select Barcode Label Configuration.
    The Barcode Label Configuration List window opens.
  2. From the list, do one of the following:
    • To add a new item, select the open menu button and select New.
    • To modify an item, double-click the item to open it.
    The Barcode Label Configuration window opens.
  3. On the Label Defaults tab, complete the following fields:
    1. In Name, enter a name for the configuration.
    2. In Heat Level, select a setting. This setting controls the temperature the barcode printer uses to print barcodes.
    3. In Printer, select the barcode printer from the list.
    4. In Default Label, select this check box if you want the label to serve as the default label. When you select this option, the application uses the barcode label as its default when you print a barcode.
    5. In Location, select the place where the barcode printer is located.
    6. In Note, enter a note about the label. This field is optional.
  4. On the Configuration tab, enter the settings that control the dimension and position of the printed barcode and the label text on the label.
  5. On the Test tab, do the following:
    1. In Text, enter the test label text.
    2. In Barcode, enter a test barcode value.
    3. Select Print Test to test the barcode label configuration.
  6. Select Next to add another item or OK to save settings and return to the Barcode Label Configuration List window.
