The Allergy Reactions master file contains a list of SNOMED®-codified and user-defined allergic reactions. You can enter a specific reaction that a patient might have as the result of an allergy.
 
 
  - From the Master Files - System list, select Allergy Reactions. 
   
    The 
Allergy Reactions List window opens. 
    
     Reactions marked as Common are listed at the top. SNOMED-codified reactions list in bold, their SNOMED code appears, and they cannot be modified. 
     
Note: When users are selecting reactions in NextGen® Enterprise EHR, they do no see an indication whether a reaction is SNOMED-codified.
     
 
     
    
    
  - To add a reaction, scroll to the bottom of the list, and in the last blank row, enter a Description for the allergy reaction. 
 
  - To modify a reaction, edit the Description for the allergy reaction. 
   
    You cannot modify the descriptions for SNOMED-codified reactions.
     
  - If you expect to frequently use a reaction, select Common.
   
    The common reactions will be listed first when users want to select a reaction in NextGen® Enterprise EHR.
     
  - If you want to hide the item in the list, select the Hide check box.
 
  - Select Next to add another item or select OK to return to the Allergy Reactions List window.
