Prevent Plan Name Changes for Payers

You have the option to prevent a user from changing the Plan Name for a Patient by selecting an option in File Maintenance > Payers master file on the Defaults 2 tab of the Add/Modify Payer Information window. Open the Add/Modify Payer Information window, in File Maintenance > Payers > Payers List, select the applicable payer and double-click. The Modify Payer Information window appears. Select the Defaults-2 tab. To prevent a user from changing the Plan Name, select the Prevent modifying plan name on insurance maint check box. Select OK. Parent topic: Payers Master File

Auditing Payers Master File

Auditing has been enabled for the Payers master file in File Maintenance. Changes that you do to the Payers master file are recorded in the Advanced Audit reporting tool. The tool records details such as, what was changed, who changed it, and when was it changed. Changing the Payer Address and Associated Patient Records

The application allows you to change the Payer Address in the Master file and to optionally update all associated patient records with the new address. If you choose to update the associated records, the new address displays on the Insurance Maintenance window when it is accessed from the patient chart. However, if you choose not to update the associated patient records, the Insurance Maintenance window displays the old address. Any modifications to that address must be made on an individual record basis. Change the Payer Address in the Payer Master File

To change a payer address: From the Master Files - System list, select Payers. The Payers List window opens. Select the payer you want to modify, select the open menu button, and then select Open or double-click the payer. The Modify Payer Information window opens. On the Payer Defaults - 1 tab, enter the new address in the Address field. Select OK. If any person or patient records have this payer with the old address, a message states how many records will be affected. Select Yes to update all the records. If you select No, the records will keep the old address. Note: The application searches all fields for an exact match. This message displays only if the information in all fields of the patient record match all the fields in the Payer master record. If there are any discrepancies, the record is not be included in the update. Select Yes to update all of the matching records with the new payer address. On the Payer Defaults - 1 tab, select either Main Address or Refund Address. You can enter one address for each kind. Enter the new address in the address fields. The first space is for street number and name. The second space is for other address details such as suite number. If the ZIP code table is set up, you can enter the ZIP code, and the city, state, county, and country automatically display. Select OK.
