Do one of the following:
To create a new library, select open menu button and select

To modify an existing library, select the library from the list, and then select open menu button and select

Crosswalk Library Search
window opens.
In the
Library Name
field, enter a name for the library. This field is required.
In the
Effective Date
field, enter the date the library becomes effective. This field is required.
In the
Expiration Date
field, enter the date the library expires. This field is required.
In the bottom section of the window, add or modify
ASA
and
Surgery
code combinations as needed.
To save changes and close the window, select
OK
.

Set Up ASA Crosswalk Codes
Use the following procedure to add or modify a crosswalk entry for an ASA and Surgery code combination from the Crosswalk Library Search window: From the bottom section of the window, do one of the following: To create a new crosswalk entry, select open menu button and select New. The Add Crosswalk Library window opens. To modify an existing crosswalk entry, search for an ASA/surgery code crosswalk. Select the item from the list, and then select open menu button and select Open. The Modify Crosswalk Library window opens. In the Anes Code field, do one of the following: Enter the anesthesia CPT code. Select Lookup to search and select the anesthesia code from the CPT4 Code Search window. The Description field defaults from the CPT4 Codes master file and can be changed if needed. In the Surg Code field, do one of the following: Enter the surgery CPT code. Import an ASA Crosswalk File
You must first obtain the Excel® file for the current year from the American Society of Anesthesiologists (ASA) and then download and save it to a local directory. The Excel file can then be imported into an ASA Crosswalk library in File Maintenance. Use the following procedure to import an ASA Crosswalk file in Excel comma delimited (.csv) format. Access File Maintenance. Select Libraries, and then select ASA Crosswalk. The ASA Crosswalk List window opens. From the list, select the library into which the Excel file is to be imported. Right-click and select ASA Crosswalk Import. The Import ASA Crosswalk Data window opens. For more information on the required column order in the Excel (.csv) file to be imported see the yellow Importing an ASA Crosswalk File note on the Import ASA Crosswalk Data window. ASA Crosswalk Library
The ASA Crosswalk library enables you to create a table of cross-references between anesthesia CPT codes and surgical procedure CPT codes. When the crosswalk is activated for one or more locations within the practice, charges for those locations are entered on the Charge Posting window in NextGen® Enterprise PM using one of the following methods: An anesthesia code is entered in the Svc Item field, and then the corresponding surgery code is selected from the crosswalk in the Surg Proc field. A surgery code is entered in the Surg Proc field, and then the corresponding anesthesia code from the crosswalk automatically defaults into the Svc Item field. The ASA Crosswalk library can be created manually by entering individual anesthesia/surgery code combinations into the library. Or it can be created automatically by importing a file obtained from the American Society of Anesthesiologists (ASA) that includes all anesthesia/surgery code combinations.
