Task Practice Preferences

You can select the fields on the Task Info tab in NextGen® Enterprise PM that are required or have default settings. When a user opens a task or when the task status is set to be completed, selected fields are displayed as required for all task types on Required tab of the Task Type master file. Requiring Task Fields By Task Type

Create a User Source Task

Open NextGen® Enterprise PM. Select Tasks > Create Task. The Add Task window opens. Add Task window By default, Task Type is the only required field. If you want, you can set other fields as required from the Tasks tab in Practice Preferences window. Select the drop-down arrow in the Task Type field, and select the desired task type. You can leave the Status field to its default setting as it is changed by the user assigned to the task. Select the desired priority level, and then enter an appropriate subject. Select the drop-down arrow in the Assigned To field and select the group or user who you want to assign this task to or select the tab key to move to the next field. Tasks must be assigned to a user so that user can view their own tasks. Tasks that are assigned to a group cannot be viewed by a user. Set Up Default General Preferences - Tasks Tab

The Tasks user preferences enable you to make settings that have an impact on tasks and the Worklog Manager window in NextGen® Enterprise PM. From the Default User Prefs - General List window, open a master file. The Default User Preferences - General window opens. Select the Tasks tab. SeeTask Optionsto select task options as needed. Set Up Practice Preferences

You can set preferences for your practice from NextGen® Enterprise PM or File Maintenance. To open the Practice Preferences window, do one of the following: In NextGen® Enterprise PM, select Admin > > Preferences > Practice. In File Maintenance, select Master Files > System > Practices, double-click a practice name, and then select Preferences. Set preferences on various tabs in the Practice Preferences window.
